Guild Wars 2

I have recently came back to playing engi and am settling between a 6/0/04/4 or 6/0/0/6/2 balthazar bomb build. Initially was playing rabid with doom/ geomancy but over the last few days have been experimenting with carrion ammy as I am sick of being run over by terrormancers.

The biggest knock against carrion is that it leaves you with a 4% crit rate making our most powerful trait (incendiary powder) unreliable. However, I’ve found sigil of int makes it proc on cd. I have had zero problems with keeping the burning flowing.

Another added benefit is that bombs/ prybar actually hit pretty kitten hard.

A fun combo is drop BoB and magnet pull them right into it with a simultaneous prybar. It has been a great burst combo.

Long story short have been loving it, anyone else tried anything like this?

Yeah, I’ve been experimenting with similar bomber variations. I did balthazar runes with sigils of intel and generosity for a bit, but I’m finding that a more hybrid power/condi build with celestial (6/0/0/6/2, Strength or Holbraek runes, battle and geomancy sigils) to have more oomph. I keep thinking I should take up rifle, but I just feel far more comfortable on p/s. One of my favorite combos is to sit on a point, blind inc war with P#3, let him stun himself on my shield 5, pry bar + glue bomb + fire bomb + throw wrench. Or BoB, fire bomb, mag pull, pry bar, throw wrench. maybe throw in an extra shield blast for a bit more might stacking.

I think I tended to run overly-safe, overly tough, ineffectively bursty builds in the past. I can still be melted by condis, so I’m trying to get better at kiting, fleeing when outnumbered ect. I’ve tried experimenting with the alchemy master trait slot — neither automated response nor injection protection seem to make a noticeable difference in my survivability though. Maybe I’ll try the 60044 route to see if having that extra block/TK dmg is worth it. And perhaps I’ll try out elixer gun in place of S. That inuln tho…
