Bomb Kit
I use bomb kit all the time. It’s one of our best kits for PvE or PvP.
Pros: hits hard with power or condition damage; can be used while kiting; has good blind; toolbelt skill is a huge knockback; contains fire field, smoke field, and blast finisher.
Best of all, out of all the engineer’s kits, only the grenade kit has fewer bugs! (sorry, but unfortunately it’s true.)
Cons: delay makes it a defensive-only weapon in PvP; very hard to hit anyone without radius increase trait; the radius increase trait bugs out our evasive powder keg trait and kit refinement bomb; the #5 skill is bad; the kit refinement skill is bad even when it works (which is never, unless you gimp the entire kit by not taking the radius trait).
Even with all the cons, it’s a good kit. I’m hoping the bugs with the radius trait get fixed soon and that the kit refinement effect and #5 skill get buffed.
The radius of the bombs is not high enough in WvW look at the whirls of other classes they have a greater radius as bombs even with trait. Bombs are good for spvp but in WvW you can use them only for defense

It’s great for PvE, but I prefer elixir gun, toolkit, and grenade kit over it, the only time I take it is if I’m at a part of a dungeon where clustered mobs will take the most advantage of the smoke bomb (as in – I want to stay put, and not have to use an AoE cripple before acid bomb). Fire bomb and Big Ol’ Bomb are the only decently damaging ones, and smoke bomb is obviously quite useful (for non-bosses anyway), but toolkit has prybar / throw wrench, and elixir gun has Elixir K and acid bomb.. and grenade kit is grenade kit.
I really think the Radius of Grenades and Bombs (except both #4 skills) needs to be increased in PvP. With a lot of practice you can land a lot more then most people realize, but the amount of misses is still extremely excessive.
Bombs and Mines should probably be unblockable like traps and marks as well.

I recently started tinkering with Bombs. Gotta say you can have ALOT of fun with it messing with people in WvW or sPvP.
Using BoB, then Glue Bomb, then Concussion Bomb…
Last night I decided to use Bomb Kit and Thumper turret on the Bridge between Hills and Lowlands. Tossed Elixir S and Stealthed, ran forward, dropped BoB and Thumper Turret in the middle of the enemy group, then overcharged the Turret…BoB and Turret launches enemies off the bridge and down to the waters below. Hilarious!

I’m seriously considering changing my grenade control engi to that of the bomber man variety.
The question is if its worth it in WvW (since I can’t solo most classes in a fair fight anywho)?
I was thinking of going 20 (III, VIII), 0, 30 (VI, VIII or IX, XI), 0, 20 (IV, VI or VII or X)
The whole point is provide 180range of around 300 healing or so per 0.5 sec while doing PvD or ninja pulting. Kits used would be med kit and bomb kit, utilizing the kit switch to cause speedy kits or kit refinement to proc, and then primarily using bomb for weak pbaoe and heals.
From a real life engineer to the community… anyone think its viable?

Got the 2 pistols just for the sigils as I use grenades ( for long range ) and bombs for melee.
I have no problem at all and I find my build very viable and funny.
