A:
i believe this build is along the lines of what you want

-power dmage comes from power, crit damage, and crit chance. with celestial you get those stats as well as defensive stats that you need to survive without losing a huge chunk of damage from rabid gear.
-tool kit sets up kills and blocks attacks. it’s amazing and you need cooldown reduction on its abilities
-you need permanent swiftness for wvwvw. you need it to escape. you need it to chase. and you need to dodge to survive any kind of onslaught. without vigor or an energy sigil you will die. every time.
-this build focuses on battle sigil, enhance performance, and noble runes to really stack might. you get a LOT of might from this combo. yuo get hgh caliber might stacking without wasting trait points to get hgh. this really improves your hybrid-ish damage though you are more power oriented.
-healing turret is superior to med kit in almost all scenarios.
-if you don’t want to craft celestial gear, then knights is a suitable replacement.

I can’t tell what you’re trying to do. Some sort of hybrid? If yes you need at least some form of might stacking, aka HGH. HGH nades is an absolute beast for small groups, since others can take the hits and you can just melt people from 1500 range

Yeah, it seems a bit all over the place. I used to run a pure condition build, and happened to have the rabid left over from that. My only other armor set is berzerker and soldier’s, which disppointed me. I had decent success but I wanted a change of pace and ended up with, well, that. Never tried an HGH nades before.

I used to have speedy kits in there, but I changed it out for Energized Armor for the extra power. I can see what you mean though, lack of swiftness has gotten me down more than I’d like. And yeah, Tool Kit is a skill that I’ve pretty much never gone without no matter what build I go for. The utility is just too kitten ed good lol.
Definitely try HGH nades if youve never run it then. Its hard to describe how quickly people will melt with 2100 power and 2200 condi dmg, with 50% crit chance (perma fury). You’re also really not all that squishy. Nearly 2900 armor, with perma protection, and elixir S for sticky situations

Too much rabid gear in there, IMO. I use a carrion variety as such: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vcEQJAqalcTp6qlYx+KseNiAqQeJ6xjRZT2nHvVaBhA-zECBIhCh0CAkIJMFqIasVhFRjVJTQWdDTHLpkCAipRA-w
The extra toughness is always nice, but it’s only about 8% more crit chance for around 350 power (that is, 10 might stacks worth of power). Doing the math, it equates to approximately 14% more direct damage with carrion gear. I’d also recommend going with the pistol cooldown reduction, although if you want to solely focus on grenades then the protection might be a more suitable alternative. You also can’t guarantee that it will get perma protection since it relies on being hit and also on receiving the protection boon from elixir H and the tossed version, which it doesn’t always give.
The choice of noble runes and going for the 10 points in arms does provide an additional 240 in condition damage (about 7 might stacks worth of condition damage). Though the quality of life provided by the all boon duration is definitely noticeable, especially in the swiftness department, but in group play you usually get enough swiftness from allies. The boon duration stacking runes would likely be a bit better for solo play though.
The main trouble with the carrion variety is that it can be a bit hard to recover when you get low compared to the rabid variety. The 10:1 ration on life to armor does mean the carrion variety is better at surviving spikes, but it won’t generally last as long in sustained fights. I feel it’s acceptable for a grenade focused build though since you’ll often be hanging at least a little ways back from the AoE mosh pit, thus naturally taking less damage over time if things are going the way they’re supposed to.
I still feel a p/p roamer build outperforms an HGH grenade build in solo roams though, especially in 1v1 scenarios. Depends on who you go up against though.

All those things you said are addressed in the thread i linked above.
I run a condition HGH p/s build with rabid gear plus a mix of toughness on rings etc, and have had plenty of success stories to go with it. Ofc there has been some not so good stories (swapping Elixir S and getting stun pwned type of stories).
Anyway i run this:

Most of the time i dont even have to swap to my HGH as my pistol just burns, bleeds and torment them to hell. 20 in firearms can really go wherever, i just like the increase in pistol range. My favorite time of day is standing on a tower ledge lobbing nades down on a zerg, tho it can hurt from retal the condi numbers and lootbags make up for it.
