Can't choose about condition or power build.
If you do not kill guardian with conditions, than you will not kill him with rifle without 20+ stacks of might. The problem is that Aegis, blind, reflecting wall, protection and knockbacks reduce your damage. For example while the guardian push you back, he heals himself and aegis will be up again.
Bunker or hybrid Elementalists have protection up most of the time. They heal themself every 10sec and dodge the most of the time.
Without 20+stacks of might the direct damage of an engineer is bad. If you like to go for rifle and you do not like HGH. Go for FT + Rifle and with two knochbacks you can interupt the heal twice and kill them.
than hgh power is better than hgh condition?
Look at Ostricheggs thread he is a much much much better player then me. He prefers conditions > power.
If you go power HGH with rifle you can take speedy kits. This is good an argument for the rifle and you can save teammates from stomp / interupt heal / decap spots with the rifle #4. The bad thing is that only #4 from the rifle is a real good skill. The rest is bad.

Rifle #4 cooldown : 15sec
schield cooldown : 30sec
BoB cooldown : 30sec, takes 3sec and easy do dodge
Magnet cooldown: 25 sec and it is a pull. Not useable for decapping.
Rifle #4 is fine.

I’ve killed bunker guardians and eles a lot. I’ve even 2v1ed a bunker guard and ele. Most of the time they run one or two stun breakers on a 60-70 sec CD, this build has at least 4 CCs you can chain. And mine has a 15sec CD + the toolbelt skill is a good damage skill if you can use it on them.

I was talking about sPvP. I do not know if OP cares about WvW or sPvP.
OP has PvE gear in his build so I guessed WvW
im looking forward to getting to level 80 and using a full condition spec whilst also bossing the CC. p/s probably with FT anf maybe bomb kit and tool kit. im a new engie but the thought of all that CC and condi makes me excited.
yeah, i was asking for a wvw build. There are too many condition remover in this game so i think a condition build isn’t so good, expecially against some classes ( Bunker DD ele for ex) that have a lot of cond remover by themeselves. Is this wrong?
THe fact is that every classes and every spec need us to use a different build. We are’nt like mesmer who can use one solo build and one zerg build and they are close to divinity in each case

Mesmers are the dueling class, we are a jack of all trades, master of none Midrange control/support class. Sometimes I think the devs feel are damage dealing is incidental.

We can reapply conditions faster than anyone can cleanse.. always go for recharge improvement traits.
If you want a solo roaming build for an Engineer, then you should go with Condition damage builds They are the best pick for that kind of gameplay, and you should in praticular be able to melt any Bunker Guardien with ease in a good condition damage build!

I run a power build and I have yet to be beaten in 1v1s, including bunkers. Mesmers are usually the hardest to kill but they’re still easy to kill. I wreck those HGH engis any day. I think you should play a build you enjoy and not let others dictate what you should use.

In zerg v zerg fights in wvw conditions arn’t that great as you’ll be fighting alot of Warriors and Guardians running full runes of Melandru with Lemongrass soup.

Well you beat me to it , everything on the rifle is good but not great…the net shot OCS and JS are all gamebreaking . Blunderbuss definitely needs a range buff , but it has its uses.
