Hey, long time PvPer/WvWer, but not much experience on Engi, trying to get into it now.

I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong, but Cleansing Burst always seems to take 3-5 seconds to activate. Whenever I’m fighting an engi, or watch any videos, they seem to be able to activate the waterfield instantly and start blasting away, but whenever I’m thinking “okay, I need to cleanse and burst heal now”, I drop turret, activate Cleansing Burst and then….. wait….. and wait…. and wait….. and wait….. and…. oh too late.

Is there some trick to getting the instant waterfield?

When you use the heal skill, just keep spamming. There’s a tiny window of time when you first put it down to hit the 6 skill again to make it instantly activate.

the overcharge proc happens on the “next” tick of healing turret, so spam it to not miss the 1st tick. otherwise it happens 3 secs later on the 2nd tick. if you lag a lot, like ping at 300+… well… gl.

Yep, spam it, or it won’t activate until the next tick. Just practice, you’ll get it. When there’s a lot of lag it still gets messed up, but it’ll be second nature eventually.
