I was wondering if this was working as intended or if it’s a bug.

Atm, cleansing formula states in the tooltip to cleanse conditions when you use an elixer. However it doesn’t work for the following skills despite being classified as elixers.

Acid bomb doesn’t cleanse, Super Elixer doesn’t cleanse an additional condition and the elixergun toolbelt skill doesn’t either.

I think if this gets fixed it would open a few more builds that do not have to rely on elixers for cleansing and just use EG.

Look at what Cleansing Formula 409 says:

“Throwing or consuming elixirs removes conditions from those affected.”

Do we throw or consume Elixir Gun skills? I know some may find that kind of wording deceptive, but that’s precisely why it was written the way it was. This is not a bug.

Well you throw acid and super elixer on the ground and well, not sure about the toolbelt though.

You do not throw Acid Bomb or Super Elixir. You shoot them.

Each utility elixir skill specifically says that you “drink” them. And each of their toolbelt skills specifically says that you “toss” them. Perhaps they should revise the writing so it simply says drink versus consume and toss versus throw, but Cleansing Formula 409 is working as intended.

I think if four (don’t forget Elixir F) of our five skills with the Elixir Gun cured conditions, that would be a bit ridiculous.

also think of this: if they counted as ‘elixirs’ they would double dip from other traits.

Elixir gun and Flamethrower have a trait for 20% cd reduction.
Elixirs ALSO have a trait for 20% cooldown reduction.

Elixirs giving might with HGH, should that work on EG too?

Elixir durations?

I don’t believe it’s about the wording of the trait ‘thrown or used’ opposite ‘shooting’ them.
I think they simply don’t count as elixirs, not for any elixir trait, despite their very misleading tooltips…

IIRC, they actually did count as elixir skills back in beta, which (in conjunction with them neglecting/forgetting to update the description) is why the tooltips still have them listed as “Elixir” skills.

I remember being disappointed on release that this had been done to the elixir gun, but it definitely would have been way too powerful if they had left it that way. Not that the elixir gun couldn’t use a leg up still, but having the skills count as elixirs would be going too far in the other direction.

In beta, you could have elixir F on like a 3 second cooldown or something like that with the cooldown reduction trait, it was really great for just keeping people crippled as much as you wanted. Well, great for you anyways, probably not so great for the person being crippled.
