Laugh all you want, but I am considering running a full cleric-Engineer with Healing Bombs.

After testing in the mists, I discovered I could heal an entire team for 1.2k HP/second through the combination of regeneration (from Healing Turret and Rune of Dwayna), Elixir-Infused Bombs, and Super Elixir (Elixir Gun).

AoE Healing Potential is also increased by using the Mortar elite #3.

The key to this build is its ability to stack power and decent damage via traits, while healing an average of 1.2k dmg/second to entire team.

Am I starting to crack, or is this a decent build?

With the new stat of Zealot’s, wouldn’t healing bombs have more damage potential?

It’s certainly viable and I’ve had success using it. With bombs you’re tagging everyone and I’ve gotten my monthly player kills in 6 or 7 minutes before (if that matters). Little Asura can run through the zerg dropping bombs and slick shoes, just to be nasty. Good durability and you can easily switch to a turret set-up if you get bored or have the need. The only shortcoming is the physical act of spamming bombs. I get tired of that play style and go looking for other things, but then that is what alternate characters are for.

You certainly could use Zealot’s and get your other stats from trinkets, however Cleric’s armor is so cheap right now (less than 5G for the full set) while Cleric trinkets have gone up in price (3-4 G for each piece). Some stat has to be sacrificed. Most people choose to give up critical damage and precision. You could lean out your vitality a little for more precision, but it depends on how confident you are and having a larger health pool makes constant regen/health builds more effective. Carpboy’s posts are thorough. Be sure to read them.

For PvE though? I’m a little unsettled. While I always carry a zerk set with me, is there anywhere in FoTM or other dungeons, where a Cleric Healer like this would be beneficiall over zerk? (I am thinking situations we stack, like chest seal in Cliffside?)

Nope, PVE for any class should be full zerks

I was absolutely convinced on using a healing build for my engineer when he got to 80, but then I realized grenades are insanely fun.

Maybe I’ll use this build in PvP though, thanks for posting
