Here’s a build that is meant to sow chaos and reap destruction, and for all intents and purposes, has no sense of self-preservation, and is perfectly content with burning up upon re-entry.

Anyways…

this is mostly theorycraft, but..

The goal is to air-drop/ ambush the siege at the gates, as well as a decently large group of people under your walls in a tight area. Upon dropping, you will take a minimal amount of damage, and launch a grenade barrage from the falling damage. Do it again with your kitswap, and repeat with your toolbelt.

Your target(s) may not have liked that at all, and depending on the amount of force applied, you should be in your Elixir S form, or near it.

If you can, stomp any downed. If not, drop bombs/grenades while tiny. and cause more mayhem. If you haven’t gotten away yet, you’ll probably be in mist form due to the vampiric runes. Drop your second healing turret. Attempt to throw an Elixir R and/or run for it.

An alternative to your opening is to drop your Supply crate for knockback, damage, and bandages before jumping in.

Is there a trait spread that would work better than what I have provided? Thoughts?

I have tried 20/0/20/10/20, but both grenadier and auto-smoke dispenser seem too good to pass up.

I thought of such a build, myself. Explosive Descent and Kit Refinement, in regards to their Grenade Barrage effects, share a cooldown. So you can’t land and then switch to Grenade Kit for two boomshowers.

The class is always greener on the other side.

That… kind of bites a lot more then, but frees up options. They seriously have double internal cooldowns? (Triple, in the case of KR)

Yep they have.

The KR refinement barrage and failing damage grenade barrage share the same CD.

100nade is a really good build to hit and run people during a siege.

I see your build is similar to a 100 nade rush.

Exit the gate with invis from Elixir s toolbelt, 100nade some people. Dunk one with elixir S. Then gear shield to the gate. Work really well.

Since you have self-regulating defenses I would actually suggest Elixir X.
If you are going to be diving into a attacking zerg you will no doubt be right in the thick of their AOE so your Turrets will immediatily downed and at the same time so anyone that can avoid the knowback will avoid all the knockbacks.

So I think dropping APT for another dmg increase Trait and picking up Elixir X could add alot of fun to the build.

Basically after you jump down and land your barrages and BEFORE Automated Elixir S kicks in drink your Elixir X:
-If you get Tornado just try and dodge around and hope you don’t get CC’d with Confusion. Even if you do though Automated Elixir S will kick in and cancel your Tornado and you can escape in Tiny form and/or drop some bombs.
-If you get Brute form you should actually rejoice in you luck that you got a very underrated form at the perfect time. Brute form gives you crazy survivabilty, Ive been able to Repair Gates while 20+ ppl attack it and they still only get me down half way while in Brute. You can also Stomp and Res with Brute very easily so you can get a spike or rez someone who maybe didnt quite get in the door.

The way I usually run is when I am ikittenerg and attacking/defending a keep or higher I have Elixir X slotted. Its great for when zergs rush in because they are more concerned with following the leader you can harass them pretty well.
If I am roaming or running imbetween to points solo or small group then I slot Supply Crate.

note to Engies: being able to so easily switch skills out-of-combat is more a benefit to us than it is to most other professions.
