I have full viper’s exotic gear right now. I hope to go ascended eventually. As I never have time to do raids, I have to get the ascended trinkets from bloodstone fen. I can get 2 rings, an amulet, and a backpiece with the bloodstone rubies/unbound magic. But I can get the ascended earrings with viper’s stats anywhere except for raids.
So my question is: Should I use the Sinister earrings from lws2 achievements, or just use exotic viper’s earrings? Which is better?

OK, for the sigils that you use, any particular reason you use Earth? I’ve been using Geomancy and Corruption.

Depends on what you are doing. For open world it’s always Corruption and Geomancy.

But for raids it’s a bit different:

Corruption is the top sigil to use in raids, IF you can stack it …

• … at a pre event like Sabetha, Sloth or Mathias.
• … during waiting times via Pocket Raptors.
• … at encounters like Trio or Escort.

Once stacked, don’t swap it until you get downed. So it’s perfect for full runs with a good team.

Geomancy is the next best sigil, aslong as you can proc it frequently that is.

So for any melee fight, you’d be using Geomancy if possible. But if you are ranged like on VG (green fields) or maybe Sabetha too, then better swap it to the next best alternative.

Earth is this next best alternative. It deals less dps than Geomancy but it’s still the best sigil to use if you can’t use Corruption.

Earth has an internal cd and will only proc on one target. Therefore it loses damage to the main target (boss) if many adds are present, since they may proc it.

Bursting is a little bit weaker than Earth again, but you’d be using this if you can’t make use of Corruption and Geomancy.

It’s also better than Earth if you face many adds for encounters like Sabetha, Sloth, Trio or Escort (unless you do solo Wargs).

Yeah, I don’t have time to do any raids, so i’ll stick to Corruption and Geomancy, but I will definitely keep this in mind as I definitely want to do raids in the future.

Toxic Focusing Crystal doesn’t really cost all that much, the price just adds up the more you buy.

personally id say malice is adequate for anything currently available and if a fight would come down to a loss with malice or a win with toxic + whatever, then it isnt that person doing the sucking, because i have completed many of the currently available fights with ample time to spare while using malice. and it saves 80s/30m.

Yeah, not talking raids, just fractals mainly. I know Xyonon knows the math far better than I, so thought I’d ask.

Yeah that’s a given hehe, just curious if I’m better with something other than malice taking it’s place. I’d think not, but I haven’t done the math.

Toxic Focusing Crystals can be made on your own for 46 silver last time I checked. Simply buy the recipe once and stop throwing away Bloodstone Dust :’D Order all the materials and they are very cheap.

Toxic Focusing Crystals are way more worth using than Rare Veggie Pizzas!

You “only” pay 26 silver for 20% condi duration and 70 condi damage by using the Rare Pizzas, compared to the 80 – pardon me – 46 silver for 10% and 100 condi damage via Toxics? No – you pay 22 silver for exactly 2% condi duration and 10 condi damage!

If you want to save money, then don’t buy Rare Veggie Pizzas and use Tuning Icicles, buy Super Veggie Pizza instead and invest the money into Toxic Focusing Crystals. You’ll end up with 28% condi duration and 160 condi damage instead of 20% condi duration and 170 condi damage, for just ~19 more silver.

Thanks I do make them (and sell them when I have enough excess bloodstone dust), it’s just there’s plenty of content where I don’t really feel a need to maximize with consumables and I had that malice pistol from while I was gearing up so I figured it was worth keeping for when I cheap out.

Idk if you are asking gear for pve or wvw….if its PVE then you can try to copy what i have been using since day 3 of HoT expansion…

Full ascended vipers armor, ascended vipers dual pistol, ascended vipers backpiece and amulet…..sinister earrings and rings….Rune of the berserker, sigil of malice(10% condi dur.), and sigil of w/e u want(i’ve used bursting every since and never replaced it)….This will get you to 71.**% bleeding and burning duration……

If you use Koi Cakes/Rare Veggi Pizza(+20% Condi dur.) and Toxic focusing Crystal(10%)….you get 100% bleeding and burning duration which is your highest condi damage dealers. Been using this forever, and never looked back….

Or if your gearing up for wvw you can still use this build(glassy but hurts alot) or just go full tank dire gear…
