how come more people arent running it. Seems to work really well.

It does and a lot do run it in WvW / PvP.
For PvE condis are just generally bad, even tho roughly 25% of the engis personal dps (even on zerker builds) comes from condis.

I personally don’t like them since I prefer the concept of YGWYS. Applied condis can get cleansed, spread or transmuted, opening your main dmg-source for becoming your death sentence, therefore I rather opt for power-dmg and reduce the options of counter-play my opponent has against me.
Just my personal preference tho, and condis have many notes on the pro-side as well.

In pvp I run it allot, its also nice in WvW roaming.

As aran said though conditions just suck in PvE.

It’s not that condi’s are bad in PVE, it’s simply that you’ll often hit the cap or get overwritten, and well, that’s no fun when your damage is nullified simply due to the game’s failed mechanics. If it werent’ for that condi’s are great, and in many solo situations it’s superior to power builds, though some bosses shed condis so it is trash at those.

I love my condi engi in WvW. It’s easily the worst char I have for large fights, but it is pretty good at small ones.

PvP WvW totally into it.

PvE – besides the stack limits are very kittenty to you, the dps is also just semi good and limited. You scale off better with zerk, yet for solo champs it makes you tankier and is pretty viable even in PvE. But focus on zerk with a party.

I run a condi bunker in WvW, it generally does pretty well, there are some things that you will just run into and you are in trouble. You dont deal with condis well(2 removed on turret and 1 convert every 15 seconds) so a necro that will throw your condis back on you is troublesome, not only this but they consume condis. Condi thief will wreck your day pretty fast, but it wrecks a lot of things pretty fast. PU condi mesmers is pretty much a win for them but they are generally so slow u can just walk away from the fight.

It also gets trashed by cele engi, and trashed even harder by necros, loses to d/d eles, s/d thieves can even trash condi engi if they know the matchup because condi is easy to kill. It is high risk and little reward, until things change cele rifle will always be the 10x better build, that’s why ppl don’t run condi as often.
