Cool looking Engineer coat-based armors

The chest you see at the preview when you make a new character is available at lv80 in Orr from various karmavendors.
You can check the dungeon vendors in LA, i think the Sorrow’s Embrace exotic chest looks pretty good aswell. A bit of an armored/miner coat. With some things on the belt, such as a small lantern of sorts.
@Terrahero: You only read the topic title, didn’t you?
I recommend rascal armour, it’s crafted and could be bought dirt cheap just for the skins. I actually like it better than any other armour, so I even transmuted my lvl 80 exotics into it

Indeed i did, i was in a bit of a rush when i posted it.
I honestly dont remember any exceptionally looking armors. The pirate set chest can look pretty cool with the right dyes applied to it. And its easy to obtain.
Not entirely on topic, but at least related:
if only they would open up pve skins for pvp, and pvp skins for pve.
Once you obtained one, it should be available to the other part of the game as well.
After all: it wouldn’t make obtaining one easier, it would just make them more ‘yours’ once you do get them.
That would give so much more options for skins while leveling alone. Simply because you can start pvp at lvl 1 basically.
Which would help the OP with his problem rather a lot (if he did pvp, no idea).
Best I can tell all the leather armors pretty much look the same. True, there are detailed differences like pockets, straps an a few are closed jacketed.
I wasnt impressed with any of them.
I jumped in the mist the other day to preview heavy and light armors. And i’m really disappointed with leather.
Heavy has some bland looking armor (I assume early level armors) but alot of it just looks awesome.
Light also has alot of good looking armor and a lot of variety in it.
Medium armor doesnt look cool nor have variety.
My current set-up. Lately I’ve been running without the Shoulders shown (as seen in last pic).
While leveling, just go for the crafted “Leather” set (“Honed Leather Boots”, for example). It has a Burlap, layered, knee-high coat, and the Eyepiece Im wearing. Definately fits the class in the early levels.
I’m also going to disagree with people who are saying Medium Armor lacks variety. Given the fact the game is 2 MONTHS OLD, I’ve seen people playing Thieves with identical looks to the Assassin’s Creed guy. I’ll agree that there could be more, but what we have now isn’t exactly horrible. Especially because I can pretty much look any way I want at any level if I have the gold & stones to transmute, and not like a kittenhead until Im a high-level raider and have something that actually matches.

Thanks for the tip, will check it out.
@Faction – If you’re going to show off your armor, then at least say what armor it is, else you’re about as helpful as a bucket of salt in the Sahara Desert.

Whoops, you’re right Sgt, my bad!
The Coat, Shoulders & Gloves are Rascal. The Boots & Eyepiece are crafted “Leather” and the Leggings are a karma piece I bought in the Iron Marches: “Mortar Teams Leather Legguards” (I’m sure the Karma ones would fit better, but I like the name), and also because they come with a big, charr-head Belt Buckle (you cant see because of the coat).
Just like Netsu, I transmuted all my exotics into this set. Definately fits the Steampunk style. The Skulls, the Eyepiece, the embroidered, classy chest thingy, the tattered jacket, and combine that with 2 Pistols hanging on the sides and the Professions variety of Backpacks, its top-notch.

Medium armor for the most part is sooo boringly normal.
And to make it worse: it’s mostly the same over and over.
I started with an engineer and a ranger, Norn, Asura… but even the Norn female looked just boring.
Than I made a human elementalist… female.
Dam, was I blown of my socks at the difference.
If that is what she wears during the day in combat, I wonder at what she might wear at night for leisure…
Thanks. Decided to go for the full Rascal set to transmute, and transmuted the mechanical monocles I started with as my headgear.

I really like the coat u get from badges in wvw

Get out. Now.
One thing is funny though: the several posts suggesting what nice and divers medium armor you could get, all sort of look the same when I look at the pictures and follow the links or names…
This game has a BIG plus in terms of medium armor: it finally looks like leather again!
(compared to some of the things other games call ‘leather’ or ‘mail’)
This game has a BIG minus as well: while it looks good, it also looks a lot the same.
