Critsgineer
That’s not a build, that’s an attempt at a catchy title. We’ll need more information about what you’re asking before anyone will respond, considering there’s no less than 5 armor stat combinations with precision on them.
like for example going 10/30/0/0/30 build
explosive 10
firearms 30
tools 30
I wouldn’t recommend that. You’ll get a lot more from going 30/10/0/0/30. If you were going to use that build, I’d assume you won’t be using a kit.
With that trait set-up it kind of looks like you want to go Static Discharge.
oh…..ok sry im just new to this game and i was just wondering if it was viable but thx for the info. ill go with 30 10 0 0 30 like u said
like for example going 10/30/0/0/30 build

I’m guessing your intent here was to maximize precision and crit damage?
It’s usually best looking at the builds in terms of major trait choices and utility skills rather than the attribute bonuses you get from allocating your trait points. The attribute bonuses are still important, but they usually aren’t what defines a given build itself.
If you did want to focus on critical hitting, you might try looking up something like static discharge builds, which can put out very high burst damage but have little in the way of true defences. It’s probably one of our best builds in terms of high raw damage output.
However, the engineer tends not to be the king of spiking with direct damage like a thief, warrior, or mesmer might be. As such, you might have something that is a bit underwhelming if you focus solely on boosting your critical hit potential (% chance and % damage).
That said, we do have a number of on-crit effects that can occur via traits to apply various conditions. Some of our strongest builds for damage output focus a lot on condition damage, so you might try considering that in your build too.
Unfortunately, I don’t think there’s a nice centralized place to read about people’s builds, but if you search around the engineer forum for awhile, you’ll probably find some.
As an example, this one focuses on bursting using the bomb kit: http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?fcAQFAUlIqic3zSfF1LJxoCdGkC76XRKqMl/oQusF;TgAg0Cno4ywlgLbNOukcB
I don’t remember where the video for it is, but the basic idea is to place your Big ‘Ol Bomb, pull them in with magnet, jump shot them after they’re pulled to you, and hit them with your other skills once they get blown away by the bomb. This build can work with high crit chance and damage with high power (i.e. berserker gear) since most of the damage will be direct damage, and the utility skills include some of our hardest hitting direct damage skills.
30/20/0/0/20 also works nice for those 1 v1 situations. or 30/10/10/0/20.
That’s Static Discharge.
I must say however that the video is a little gimmicky.
On the average t6+ situation you do like half of the damage you see, and the video was recorded in early december, back when it wasn’t very popular and engineer was known to deal low damage.
Right now people know it and know how to counter the build which makes it almost useless since it’s power relies in surprise burst.
It’s still a lot of fun and one of the best noob plowing builds out there thou, if that’s what you want you’ll have fun.
Well im just aking if it is viable in pve not pvp…just to clarify
Well it’s stronger now because of ascended gear. If u ask me about viable in pve – grenades are the best choice in pve no matter if some FT/EG fanboys say anything else. U can go berserker or rampager/rabbit on grenades. Berserker deals around 4k DPS (compare: GS Warri deals 4,5-5,5k DPS) while rampager goes up to 6k DPS. But rampager overwrites alot conditions and their dmg from teammates…
Sry im really new to this game and to mmorpg genre…wats berserker n rampager?
berserker: power – precision – crit damage
rampager: power – precision – condition damage
rabbit: precision – toughness – condition damage
Ohhh ok thank u very much
