DPS/Tanky Build
This is the build I usually run in dungeons on my Engineer:
This build packs a punch and has enough toughness and vitality to keep you alive during prolonged boss fights. Swap out Rifle turret for elixer gun for a bit of support if needed.
This may not be the best build out there, but it works really well and I like it. I hope this helps.

Giver weapons for +20% condition duration (Vulnerability, Bleed, Freeze, Cripple, …)

2x Lyssa, 2x Mad King, 2x Water/Monk (nowadays 4x Traveler, 2x Mad King is properly better)

Grenades deal a lot of damage, with constant Swiftness and Vigor, Protection when disabled and Regeneration (PvE) or Elixir S (PvP) it’s also hard to kill.
I like to run a few builds.
For ‘Tanky/DPS’ I run 0/30/0/20/20 FT/Rifle/SD with Medkit, FT, Toolkit n Rifle Turret. Knights armor, Zerker trinkets n Rifle. 6x Runes of Altruism (almost full up time on Fury with Medkit). When DPS’n make sure you use not only FT but Surprise Shot, Throw Wrench, TK3 and Rifle3 n 5 for damage output. EG can be used instead of TK and EG4 hits hard also.
For DPS I use 10/30/0/0/30 Rifle SD. Medkit, Rifle Turret, Toolkit and PBR. -or- 30/10/0/0/30 Grenades SD, sub Grenade Kit for PBR.
Zerker gear on both with Runes of Altruism again for Fury. Switch through GK, Toolbelt skills, Rifle3 n 5 and TK 3 for damage.
