I’ve been playing Condition Engineer in pvp, but I have seen numerous of De-Cap engineers.
I’d like to try it out but I don’t know the build for it. Does anyone know the build by any chance?
the build is quite garbage against any competent team but if you’re just solo queueing, have fun. people who aren’t equipped to deal with it will hate you.

Basically decap engi is very successful against any team regardless of skill as long as they are not running a thief. Now most high level teams run thief so you may assume that anyways.
2: The build DOES NOT take FT or rifle cd’s. 3 seconds saved? complete waste of 20 trait points. And 0/0/10/30/30.
You can change out vigor for backpack regen and vice versa. I have always prefered backpack regen so I can “leave” fights and come back in sooner. Not 2 mention the silly level of low hp sustain.
The 10 in inventions though is always protection and you ALWAYS take 6 in alchemy for on stun protection. Your links are squishy. Any thief/mesmer/ele would rip it apart after awhile. Against the actual version They cant 1v1 him except a good thief.

imo decap engi is akin to mm necros in that it’s a solo queue stomp build.
Gw2 pvp is a game of hard counters. Decap engi hard counter 7 of 8 professions. Thief is obviously the remainder. I also said most not all. You would be surprised how many teams either don’t run one or have a bad one. The “top” teams generally have a good thief. Not the “close to top” teams lol.
Its essentially the same thing as ele isn’t viable as thief out performs it in every way.
Same for playing condi engi vs a 3 necro team. You shouldn’t do it.
If other team doesn’t run a thief decap engi will destroy their team.

This is the reason why good teams go for warrior instead of a decap engi. Random char + thief kill them in no time and nearly every team is prepared for them right now.
Decap engi is very good vs condition classes and a good bunker.
Actually my bomb build counters their.
the reason is actually thumper turret is the thief hard counter.
for this reason. If it is overcharged as soon as the thief pops out of stealth to hit you it fires and launches them. They return and you can detonate knocking them back again. By which point they have lost all their suprise. You can block. Ht knock back and bomb blind with smoke field.
all in all it works really effectively. Try it out.
