Heh calm down dear.
This has happened again in the betas, this was expected and is a sensible nerf.
Abusing combo blasts is not balanced.
Why I am surprised is why Arenanet even allowed it back in after removing it already before but… Anet gotto do what Anet gotto do.
I expected this, but its a pity. With Smoke Bomb and Detonate Mine Field it was possible to Cloak you and everyone around you for 15 seconds. While this may be not intended and (too) powerful, it was awesome and i had a kittenload of fun with it, especially in WvW but also in PvE, where i could sneak up or through enemys.
I will miss it.
You gotta admit, it’s kinda of broken for getting blast finisher buffs.
What I don’t understand is why isn’t BOB fixed. It’s a big bloody bomb for crying out loud. On a 30 second cooldown! If anything deserves a blast finisher it does.
MMO Rule #1
Anything that benefits the player is higher priority to fix than the problems that hinder the player

They should have at least left 1 combo finisher on it, to be honest. Right now it’s simply a “come at me bro” skill for dealing with melee enemies. I don’t honestly care about the 15s of buffs from combo finishers, but it was A LOT of fun getting those while in combat. My fun has been nerfed!
Pretty lackluster for a toolbelt skill as it is now.
the effects you can produce via combos are not that strong, have very limited duration on a 45s long cooldown and you have to give up a utility slot for this which could be use for more damage or CC.
in no way were the effects gamebreaking or frustrating for other players. it was fun and gave the engineer a creative way to bring in support for the group in from of AOE combos. removing this just dumbs down the engineer even more to the 3 builds (pistol condition, power rifle or grenade spam) because everything else does not work as it should or is just bad due to clunky mechanic. the devs should instead focus on fixing the bugs.
They should change how the skill works agreed.
My Proposal:
Tighten up the radius of where they can be placed, or enlarge the blast radius.
Add 1 boon removal per mine hit by.
Add 8s bleed per mine hit.
Add 3s cripple per mine hit.
Like a real mine field, you gonna be bleeding, and injured. Just not as deadly…
@CptCosmic.3156: You’re underestimating the number of builds we have, and ALL engineer builds could use mine field previously, so it’s not exactly a loss to any build.
EDIT: any specific build I mean. Yes it’s a loss to all builds, sorry if I didn’t word clearly.

No fixes to the current bugs
They fixed flamethrower for Asura.
Completely agree with OP. If the current bugs are taking time to fix, they shouldn’t bother with changes that result in nerfs until at least some of them are fixed. The class is already nerfed enough because it doesn’t work properly.
Seriously, who at Anet makes these decisions? It is illogical.
Either fix thekittenbugs, or ease up on the nerfs.

oh come on guys, grow up.
With 3 buttons you could easily heal over 16k in less then 2 seconds.
Mine Field → Regenerating Mist → Detonate mines x 4 = 4 heal waves, each being around 5-6k.
There’s plenty of posts on this forum boasting about this, and even some builds posted that abused this, if you think this wouldn’t get noticed your being extremely daft.
Soooo, is the normal Detonate a blast finisher still or did it got the axe too?
And also the long duration retaliation, or massive might stacks, which also has been noted abouts.

So we didn’t really get any much needed fixes but instead got one of the few reasons people even consider an engineer removed? I mean I knew it was gonna happen eventually but I was hoping it would be after we were brought in line with the other classes….This just sends us further down.
Another HUGE nerf to the most bugged class in the game.
Big ol Bomb still bugged and healing mist too short to combine with many finishers.
The next move must be remove our weapons and kits and add a skill to insta die.
Time to level up a mesmer…

Yeah. Bit annoying that they fix other classes and are not fixing something for engineer when we have a really long bug list and the other stuff they fixed for other classes did not seem that major.
Hopefully the next patch will include 3-4 fixes for engineer and none for other classes since they already are fixed enough.
