I’ve Google’d about this skill and apparently people were complaining about this skill ages ago already. When would you ever use this skill?

This skill has a very long cast-time and hardly does any damage at all. It feels pretty useless and doesn’t fit with the rest of the tool kit skills IMO.

It should at least give the same bleeding as caltrops IMO.
so instead of a mere 1 stack of bleed for 2s, 2 stacks of bleed for 3s.
The shorter cooldown of Box of Nails is then justified by the fact that they only last 4s while caltrops last 10s.
Cast-time should be 1/4s

It’s an unblockable 240 radius cripple field. The bleeding is irrelevant, and primarily just a cover condition, really.

Paired with bombs, it’s very good. Glue Shot and Glue Bomb too are both the same, though their cripple effects don’t last as long.

Once they buff the Bomb Kit back to 240 radius, I think you’ll see a lot of BK/TK users in PvP and WvW. I mean, you already kind of do—but it’s not as effective as it could be.

Always use it since I see the pros do so. I think it can nulify thief’s blind a bit if I’m not wrong.

Before that I use it when I have the need to run away slowing down people chasing you.

I usually use it in two situation.

1) When someone chase me, I drop it to cripple them and allow me to flee.

2) When I’m fighting on a small node. I usually run in circle when fighting and the cripple allow me to either slow down enough a melee enemies so he have a hard time landing his big attack and give me more time to aim my cc right.

I use it on kiting Butcher in hotw1 with food duration food and glue bomb it permacripple him:-)

i use it quite often and i find it really strong. It has a low cd and it is really handy for cripple melee people who jump on you. I find it usefull against guardian or warrior or thieves

It’s very useful when disengaging or kiting melee players, as well as for clearing blind (use it when you expect a thief to shadow shot to you, so you can overcharged shot the thief right away afterwards). It’s not really something you should be using off-cooldown, but it’s nice to have when you need it.
