Drones and rifles... disappointed
The way I see it, it is a problem with the traits, almost all the traits are only affecting Hammer/Gyro/Juggernaut/other traits in the scrapper trait line. Notable expections are Recovery Matrix and Adaptive Armor.
So gyros are designed for hammer, and traits are designed for Hammer or Gyros. So if you don’t take hammer you are left with nothing.
I always considered rifle a mid range weapon. A lot of its big hitting skills need you to get in close. The problem is, if I skill 5 in for a quick blunderbus and then acid bomb out…. will my drones have kept up?
It is the main problem of the scrapper rarely pointed out by beta testers…
Traits line focus only on gyros and hammer, it has not a global view of the engineer, only the spec… which is a shame…

This seems to be an issue with many of the elites, very little synergy with existing or other specs.
i wish this had been considered more so that we could integrate more of the new features without being forced to change everything else if we didn’t want to.
I have no interest in the hammer personally anymore than im likely to dump the staff on my ele/necro
I don’t see any problem considering the synergy between the elite spec and the core class for the mesmer, the necro, the warrior, the ele.. should I continue?
This scrapper spec traits have been thought on their own, using hammer and gyros, the “build combo” is the FT power generation with the use of stab… wow, 2 power stack per stab if you stay using the FT… yeah sure, so wow… , you will lose so quickly the stacks, I prefer using alchemy, soldier, rifle…
The lockdown has not been thought outside the gyros
