Dungeon Grenade Zerker build?
In general grenades=condi. However a static discharge zerker build would prolly work well with anything. The goal of static discharge is to take the toolbelt skills with the lowest CD.
Having said that if you get nothing but zerker gear you could prolly run a successful HGH zerker nades build. But engis bring so much to the party through elixir gun/healing turret and the most blast finishers in the game…. you sure you wanna do zerker?
Sounds like you want Rampager gear not zerker gear.
I see, well I already have zerker gear. : / what kind of zerk build for dungeons then if not grenades?
Hmm, kinda a tough one, but I suppose static discharge would be a good bet. The problem with static discharge is that it relies on bouncing the static discharges, which doesn’t work on every boss, but certainly works on a lot.
Grenades work great with berserker gear.
I have been running berserker grenades since the beginning.
I use the Adventurer rune set and 2 or 3 celestial accessories and have around 500 condition damage.
While grenades really do apply a lot of conditions you shouldn’t count on conditions to do full damage all the time. Especially in dungeons – if there is even 1 other player who applies some stacks of bleeding – you reach the condition stack-cap quite quickly and at that point the damage you can do with conditions stagnates. They also do not benefit from all the vulnerability stacks you apply at all. Vulnerability only increases direct damage and is not influenced by (and does not influence) condition damage at all.
here is a general overview of the build i use but i change utility skills and traits frequently depending on the activity. (utility slot 2 is usually filled with the toolkit or the net turret)
just make sure to use the shrapnel grenades and the toolbelt skill whenever they are available.
With zerker gear I’m finding 10/30/0/0/30 Rifle/SD to be quite effective. Could try 30/10/0/0/30 as well if you wanna run Grenades. Rifle Turret and PBR both have short cooldown toolbelt abilities. Toolkit is also short and gives an extra kit for fun when you need melee.

Grenades are a hybrid kit, benefitting from both zerker and rampager gear. When I use grenades, I run zerker gear with 2/3 celestial trinkets and it works quite well. Imo you can run grenades with any combination of zerk+rampage gear, and building the rest of your playstyle around that. As others have said though, relying on condition damage 100% becomes problematic with bleed caps interfering with your allies.
Rifle/SD is quite fun, I’ve been using it lately in dungeons and is all about big zerky crits. I like using Goggles, ToolKit, and either Rifle Turret or Rocket Boots, depending the situation.

hidden pistol on charrs makes nice damage with static disharge and low cooldown
Zerker Nades is the highest damage output an Engi can produce (Bomb might be a little bit higher but is harder to use). The grenades are one of the best power scaling skills in the game, provided you can get all of the grenades to hit. Adding in static discharge with some low cooldown toolbelt skills can give you a lot of added burst. Or you can do HGH with elixers to make you grenade damage even higher.
I would generally avoid conditions for dungeons as if you have another condition class with you, you will both be cutting into each others damage. Also power is genearlly a lot more efficient in dungeon settings.

Do you have values for build vs damage output? Where is your info coming from?
Reason I ask is because there is a lot of conjecture on these boards. In a lot of cases comparative DPS seems to be subjective. I’m not trying to discount this statement, I would just like to see the numbers.

I’m just going to leave this here:

Shout out to GuanglaiKangyi for the excellent guide. It has several variants in there for power, condition, and support.
Reminder: Might buffs power and condition damage, so both builds can be excellent hybrids regardless of berserker or rampagers gear.

Rampagers with ruby jewels was the highest damage output until they fixed Scope in the big balance patch. Rampagers is still really close to full berserker, it just necessitates a different trait selection.

all you need to know. atm id choose zerker over condition (in dungeons)
edit: sry, just saw it was posted already. cant be posted enough.

The only values I’ve seen are from TheKnox on the guru thread less I’m missing something. Those are best case scenario also. Again, I don’t want to discount this but we are lacking actual DPS values. I think there is a dps calculation spreadsheet hidden out on guru somewhere.
I did some testing on the new golem in the mists. Got some values. Zerker Grenades/SD averages 3% higher than Zerker Rifle/SD. This climbs 1% per stack with more Vulnerability from Grenades but evens out again if the group maxes Vulnerability w/o you. Not saying my method is 100% accurate but its at least a comparison of two builds. I’ll have to try Rampagers amulet and HGH setup n see where it takes the numbers. Gonna check this against my other 80’s also when I get some time.
Either way Zerker Grenades does quite good damage if you land your hits If you’re not real accurate then Zerker Rifle/SD is a good contender, sorry for deviating from the main topic.
