Elite turret skill
It sounds reasonably enough for a possible turret elite skill :-)
Except that’s just Supply Crate with legs…
What they COULD do is change the Mortar into a remote-controlled turret that’s activated by clicking your Elite-button again.
“On-activation, Mortar will fire its available arsenal at a target area.”
- Available arsenal is determined by the current skills’ cooldowns.
- Healing round will be fired at the Engineer player instead (for allied-benefit)
- Mortar round cooldowns are displayed like buffs.
OR
Each round you fire could alternate. So it’s a matter of watching your Elite-button to see what’s next.

oooooorrrr…. You could use the remote like a weapon kit, swapping to it and directing it at range.

Just found this and it looks like a perfect start to an elite turret, obvz the legs are a bit skinny and stiff looking but with a bit of work, youve got yourself an elite turret.
Thanks for replies guys, i wrote this thread in like 2 mins and it was rushed, yes it is like a walking supply drop and im sure my suggestion would need some fine tuning to make it a unique turret elite skill.
The fine-tuning needed would be to go back to the drawing board and come up with something totally new.
Here, you’re basically asking for an Elite skill that even overshadows Supply Crate.
And that’s the only Elite skill considered viable for Engineers.
That’s like asking ANet to give Guardians the ability to heal full time. (Their Tome of Courage healing-focused Elite skill only lasts 20 to 30 seconds)
The implications would be a balancing disaster.

How about a gatling gun turret that fired 3 shots per second?
Portable Magic-cannon. Because I want my own personal rail-gun looking thinger.
How about an exosuit similar to the dredge mining suit with unique combat abilities?
- Target lock: Target(s) within current line of sight get Weakness(5 stacks for 5 seconds).
- Lock & Load: Might and Retaliation for 5 seconds.
- Barrage: Fire a group of missiles at a target location. (AoE damage + Burning)
- Re-enforced Armor: Increased armor/damage reduction for 5 seconds
- Self Destruct: Destroy the suit. (AoE damage + Knockback)
It would be interesting to see to say the least.
