Elixir builds are great offensively, youll never have trouble against passive healing and defense. They can be really squishy at times or extremely tanky. It all depends on how you use the skills available to you

Carpboy pritty much hit the nail on the head

they can be a bit lacking in mobility / land speed since you kinda need to keep about 3 elixirs in your utilities to really get mileage out of the alchemy traits, but what carpboy said.
