Elixir Infused Bombs Build Rip
Under the upcoming new trait system, the healing bomb engineer is no more. Unless someone found a way to turn bombs into explosions o.O.
You mean bombs into blasts, they are explosions
With Short fuse I imagine BoB will hit soon after you drop it. WIth the heals = blasts, mortar kit, FT blast, shield blast, well we’ll have a lot of blasts. We won’t be the massive regen a bombheal build is currently, but we’ll be able to burst up heals more efficiently… at least hopefully if they flesh out these traits to be powerful enough.
It is unfortunate. I liked elixir infused bombs functionality.

welp, it gave little heals and you could literally outrun your bombs before they were going off, forcing you to run a pretty narrow curve, therefore virtually becomming a sitting duck.
I have no idea what the range on the blast-heal will be, but if it goes up to 360 or even 480 (like healing turret) you’ll now at least get full mobility while trying to profit from your traits.
I guess we have to wait until the changes (or at least the concept for it) are live, so we really can compare elixir infused bombs with heal-plosions.
Keep in mind that a healing bomb build was going 2 into explosives minimum anyways, along with full into inventions, so the general build-idea remains the same in terms of what lines to pick, even tho the mechanic shifted.
And if the range is decent, heal-splosion + blast on powder keg becomes a very well synergizing combo, that also could become a heal-powerhouse if the actual heal is high enough.
The only thing that certainly will hurt the hybrid / condi version of healing bombs is the shift of ICP from explosives to fire-arms, since you’re now forced to either take rifle-arms for more condi-pressure and mobility, alchemy for more healing and defensive boons or tools for utility and mobility…
I really can not think of a reasonable prediction of how these changes turn out, all I can say is that it might becomes way better than our current healing bomb-themed build-options.
I never out ran bomb heals while in combat. Out of combat I never needed them.
Though I agree that I can be synergistic with other options they are adding.

Yes I ran healie bombs and an disappointed I have to replace my full cleric ascended set. Any news on if we can armour/weapon trade our now useless healing stat equipment for something more practical ?
Welp, if they introduce such a merchant now, you trade in your ascended cleric gear and the changes turn out to scale very well with Healing-power, you may regret this NPC’s early existence.
I’d say wait at least until the actual numbers are released before you burn the witch and demand a refund (be it monetary or with ingame-goodies). And if you want to be sure if the new mechanic is something for you or not, you should wait until you had the chance to play it.

Blast finishers heal + Incoming heals heal allies + Heal skills trigger blast finisher + Mortar 1 becomes a blast finisher
Boom, instant healing build for engineer that is probably better than the old one.

I have to agree. To be honest here, what I think we are actually discussing, is the change of play style from what we are used too. Yet it seems like it will be more beneficial over all.

Thanks for the correction

Yup, time to change supply crate for mortar elite I guess. Thank you.
Not to bash, but I really don’t think Anet will remove minimal range on mortar, and give free blast finisher on mortar AA. (It would be too powerful even without healing blasts)
Oh and for nice combo for draft engi:
Inventions have quite nicely synergistic healing stuff.
Healing turret (F1) → water field
Deployment of Healing turret → Base healing + Blast Healing + Blast on Water field
Instant overcharge → Healing + water field
if it counts as using healing skill then additional Blast Healing + maybe Blast on Water field.
Turret explosion → Blast on Water field + Blast Healing…
It should boost burst healing by quite big margin…
upcoming invention trait line is 10times better for healing that healing bombs kitten
blast on dodge heal on blast blast on blast and blast on heal on blast with condi cleanse
oh and heal back your allied for % when u getting healed.
wvw meta inc.
I have a feeling that a new bunker engi build is coming that will make everyone wish they were still fighting turret engineers.
