So I just noticed using elixir S makes you lose your weapon stats and sigils. Although not gamebreaking, this is silly, using elixir S makes me lose about 2k hp, 10% condition duration (which makes me lose a tick on my bleeds) and makes my conditions tick for less. It also won’t give me corruption stacks.
I didnt see this in the other elixir S threads, and this is not meant to be a whine thread, just a heads up/bug report.
You guys experiencing it too?

Haven’t been running Elixir S, myself, so couldn’t say.
Suggest you post this in the SPvP forum as it’s more likely to get noticed by ANet there.
I would suggest you post this in the bug forum as well or use the in game report bug feature.
I look forward to this being fixed in November.
Yeah, just tested. My health, power, and condition damage drops an equivalent amount to unequipping my weapons. I’m not sure about sigils but I expect it’s the same case.
It makes me wonder if they even tested the skill when they changed it. I mean, it seems quite noticeable. At least, noticeable outside of the pvp environment…

Jon, there also appear to be a bug in general when we die or get downed, the weapon will no longer apply, and it’s stats and sigils won’t work! You then have to unequip and reequip the weapons for them to function!
This is even more reason to never use Elixir S now…

Thanks for checking the profession-specific forum! There’s a lot of good player testing and bug reports here. A lot of people have started posting in the PvP and WvW forums instead to get them noticed faster.

you are right, I just checked some older footage and it was the case before. how weird that I never noticed it.
truthfully, I only noticed it today because I wasn’t getting corruption stacks after 2 or 3 player stomps under S.

There is another Elixir S bug though, probably already known about though (I took a break for a while).
Sometimes when activating it to break a stun, if the stun was say some kind of knockdown…half the time I end up in Elixir S but still stuck unable to move or take any action, basically the opposite of what is intended when you use Elixir S.
@Velron I have found that bug as well, and after more testing I found out it happens if I’m “still in the air”, so like if an elementalist use Updraft, If I click the skill as soon as I get hit, It will play the entire knockdown animation, but if I first click it when I land, I will get up instant and out of stun! kinda wierd!

My guess is you never noticed it before because you were too busy doing something more useful than watching your hps bubble while under elixir S lol. This explains the random instant deaths I’ve gotten when hitting this skill, time to swap out my vitality weapons for something less dangerous.

I’d never use elixir S at full hp and thats the only way to see your hp fluctuate, but I should have noticed the corruption stacks. I remember discussing that sometimes kills wouldn’t count but I never associated it with elixir S.
as for the vit drop, I’m pretty sure it doesn’t make a big difference. your total maximum hp drops but nor your current hp. so for example, if you have 16k out of 23k hp and you use elixir S you’ll still have 16k hp.. just a maximum of 21k (assuming 2k from the pistols). while it does carry some issues, I think the main problem comes from condition damage/duration of your still ticking conditions and heal power you’d get from left over healthpacks/superelixir and whatnot.

Pretty much what I have noticed as well, sucks when you use it to break another stun and some ele hits you with Updraft right as you try to break that one and you end up taking the full knockdown animation.

I thought this was known, it came up briefly awhile back but I think it was part of the bigger discussion of also losing Sigils and Stats when switching to kits.
Its not anything too bad for most ppl but certainly has the potential to more negative.
Besides the Sigil stacks it also has an effect on anything feeding off of your weapons stats, like Blood Injection trait.
If I remember right Elixir X has the same problem.

I’ve noticed it in the past. Unequipping and reequipping your stacking weapon fixes it, but it’s annoying to kill 12 mobs and realize you aren’t getting stacks.
also with rifle jump shot I often fly towards my target enemy instead of the ground I target. Prolly related to bug that sometimes you fall second time when you jump/fall long distance. Also often not getting any stacks for kill stacking weapons :s.
So there is some new ones.
’nother Elixir S bug to add to the list: When you leave Elixir S form now, your current action is interrupted.
Used to do things like mine nodes or revive people uninterrupted previously. (Tested in PvE)
Is this an intended part of the nerf? Cause it’s definitely new.

By “fix” do you mean make it so that Elixir S now Immobilizes us and puts 25 stacks of vulnerability? If so, that would be awesome. These past “fixes” have been kittening awesome!
