Engi best source of conditions?
Silentshoes (Thief), Wind of the Woods (condi ranger)
When I look at the weapons for an engi, the conditions seem quite low, compared to a necro, for example.
How does an Engi with condition runes build up all their conditions to kill someone?
Is it fairly slow process? Drawn out fights?
i use p/s and three kits

I use pistol/pistol.
3 – Blind, confusion
2 – Poison
4 – Burning
5 – immobilize, cripple
1 will give bleeding, but you from traits, you get:
Bleeding, burning
On hit & crits. The bleeding & burning stack on with any of the other skills, so sometimes static shot will stack on blind, confusion, burn & bleed in 1 hit.
I also use toolkit, for cripple & confusion.
Just continue using the pistol skills and they will melt.
Shanks, can you share your build?

The Key is covering your burns, as condi. If you don’t play with Bombs or Rocket Boots, then P/P is pretty much a must. You simply need a reliable burn and Incendiary Powder, then you can go to town. That’s either 1) Blowtorch, 2) Fire Bomb, or 3) Rocket Kick. Become a ninja at hitting these abilities.
Playing with Nades is pretty key in order to cover all of your conditions properly, too. Get your burn up – Vuln, Bleed, Blind, Chill, Poison. Don’t forget that a pretty decent component of this damage will be power based, too. Even as a condi Engineer you still have 20%+ power damage component. A Staff & Scepter/Dagger Necro’s damage components are like, 95% condition, and 5% power.

And so, another potential Granade/Bombs Engineer was born………..not like i dont understand that thes kits a strong in condition area, but if people will keep selling granade and bomb kit to everyone new to Engineer profession, our ranks will be full of nothing but copies of eachother, a total gray army.
Currently every 2nd Engineer you meet is runing either bomb or granade build and are using same builds….as a Engineer user myself its a realy sad sight for me.
And as for me, i prefer to go whit p/p and EG, even if not on pare whit Granade or Bomb kits, i still can burst oponents fast as, if not dodged or blocked, all of the attack will hit since its lock-on projectail, wher Granade you have to aim manualy so its easy to miss and bombs have short range so its easy to go out of its reach.

I usually just go double pistol with flamethrower kit. Gernade and Bomb kit are eh to me. :S

The build I gave him is P/P Elixir B / Elixir S / Toolkit.
What i said was not aimed specialy at you but at players on this forum in general, most post of threads like this usualy have following statements
- “if you are not going to use boms or granades…”
- “nades are the key to conditions builds…”
- “whitout granades or bombs you lose a lot of condition dps…”
- “geanades and bombs are the only valid kits for conditions…”
and so on…
Even in this thread ther are some similar statements.
Of course i know that they are correct but most if not all new players reading that will immediately jump at this bandwagon, thinking that its the only way to go for them, especialy when its the veterans of Engineer profession that wrote it.
but i guess im just being grumpy here, posting a complain about issue that is not hurting anyone.
So do you think they should be playing less than optimal condition application kits? Whenever the entire purpose of the thread was asking about the best sources of condi application. The only true answer to the question is simply grenade kit and bomb kit hands down. P/P toolkit builds work as well, but that is due to their increased damage due to mightstacking, as well as the boons they give. For raw condi output toolkit, EG, and flamethrower do not even compete with bombkit and grenade kit, although they all have there other uses, such as interrupts, shields, and stunbreaks. For raw condi output we are going to recommend the best available options.
