Engi in PvP - why do I suck?

Since the patch, I’ve seen people to extremely well as engis in pvp, so I decided to give it a try. Even though I have a lot of experience in pvp, I feel like I can’t get the hang of it.

I don’t know if it’s my build or if I’m just terrible with this class. I’m using a skill rotation that theoretically makes sense but I it seems that almost anyone can beat me in a 1v1.

Does anyone have a tutorial video that I could watch and/or a build that could help me get started. Also any tips about skill rotations? Thanks!

List your weapons, traits, sigils, runes, amulet, and utility skills.

Engineers are very reactive. They’re also the hardest class in the game to play alongside Elementalist (in PvP). It might take some time to reach their skill floor.

Here is a great set of videos to help you out:

Teldo is one of the best engineer plays out there, if not THE best.

Watch the Ostricheggs stream. He is one of the best Engineers and he often plays Engi in his stream (sometimes ele, thief or warrior).

Chainth does not stream anymore and teldo is also not playing at the moment. So I guess Ostricheggs stream is the best choice.

Even if normal players are not able to get his skill it is very useful to watch the stream and learn how to react.
