I would like the ability to transmute the skin of the Engineer Backpack onto other back items because I really like how it looks.

I did it. Transmuted it to guild back.

See attached image. Case closed.

So it only works for other backpacks? Because it doesn’t work on items like backbraces.

Backpacks seem to be the only back item that have a model. Not sure what’s up with that.

I’d like for them to make the engis backpack a bind on account item so that I can make another one. Transmuted something wrong before I learned how and my backpack was lost.

Can you transmute the engy bag to other characters like how you can do it with Priory, Vigil and Whisper armours?

I wish they’d put in more Engineer-themed armor skins, myself. At least the backpack and monocle – sure, you can get similar monocles via Medium Armor crafting, and buy backpacks from the Guild Armorer, but it’s just one of those things that’d be nice, I guess.

the only trick is finding a back slot item that can be freely traded. With the goggles you can make a lvl 1, use a stone to transmute them to a white head piece and throw it in the bank, then any medium armor character can equip or transmute it. If the guild backpacks aren’t bind on acquire they should work.

I’ve tried the transmuting thing, but once something is soulbound, you can’t take it out of your bank anymore.

I havent tried with back items specifically, but I have with the starting head pieces. It will say soulbound on the item after your lvl 1 alt transmutes it, but you can still euip it on another character.

Is this recently? I tried it today and the item would transmute, but once in the bank, my other character which I wanted it on wasn’t able to take it out of the bank at all

I haven’t tried since this last patch, it’s possible they changed it since then, which is unfortunate.
I always had good luck in warcraft with the GMs restoring things for me I unintentionally lost, you might make a ticket about it. I don’t see why they couldn’t restore your original backpack.
