To be honest this isn’t just about the engineer elites, same goes almost every class out there. Many Elite skills… suck. They have way to long cooldown, they don’t fit builds and are only viable in a small set of situations. So, what needs to be done?

First of all, I would like an Elite for every skilltype. For Engineer that would be turret, elixir, gadget and kit. Turret and elixir, we already have. But what about gadget and kit?
An example at an Elite-kit could be Sniper Rifle, Mini-Gun or Shotgun. Sadly I don’t have any idea of an Elite-gadget.

To be honest, I would actually prefer less “powerful” Elites but with shorter cooldowns. That way I would that they’re actually worth popping every once in a while instead of only use if there’s something REALLY big.

Perhaps you have some other ideas to bring…

Engineers elite elixir has a very short CD when you spec into elixirs with the passives that give you reducing CD on all elixirs by 20% and giving the elixirs 20% extra duration. that makes using the elite elixir, being able to tank and CC more.

I’d like a kit type elite.

We have the only elite (i think) that can be used 100% of the time. Unfortunately in most scenarios it’s rather bad.

Why not elite kit with same mechanics as conjured elementalist weapons? 25 uses of any skill from this kit and then bye-bye, wait for cooldown passing. Ofc cooldown starting when you’re equipping this kit, not when you’re stowing it

As for gadget, I’d like to see something granting stability, but without randomness factor

I would love an elite that fit my dps p/p condition build. I use supply crate because its the only useful one, and its only useful for the heals and sometimes the nets but like all broken turrets most creatures can 1 shot them. Some elixer that inflicted all conditions at once when thrown at enemy and all boons for allies is whati woukd like.

I wouldn’t mind an extra utility slot. It would help us a lot.

But I do not actually think Elixir X and Supply crate are that bad.

It takes a while to figure Elixir X out but once you get the hang rampage and tornado they are great for point holding / turtling, and escape + CC spam.

As others have said with trait support (elite supplies, long lasting elixirs) you can get the duration to 20-25s for tornado and 25-30s for rampage. Which is great given the stability and health increases. It’s always enough for me to charge back into a keep, or tank a few mobs with CC.

Supply drop is great just for the AoE stun + blast finisher. I do think the turrets could be swapped a bit. If flame was rocket I think it would work better. Like it does underwater.

Mortar is kind of the black sheep with only very niche uses, and tons of draw backs.

But when you look at elites there are only a few that really stand out for profession abilities. Thieves guild, moa, dagger storm, supply crate, tome of courage? the rest are kinda of meh in comparison.
