Yes! The elite specs will (most likely) offer a new elite, but you should still be able to use the old one.

That begs the question, is there a reason NOT to spec ? I doubt there would be a better trait line that the elite one as we’ve already seen

The elite specs won’t be “better” than the other ones Just open up different play styles!

From what I’ve seen til now they are a lot better than the normal ones, look at the guardian, not only they’ll be able to use another weapon, they will also be able to use the normal ones

More options doesn’t necessarily mean better. Maybe the things they offer are completely irrelevant for some playstyles. Also, they’ll change the effects of class mechanics, so if you don’t like the mechanics they offer…

Every Elite spec is adding a new weapon to each profession….or am I missing something =S

You give up one of the core Specializations for the elite spec.

Meaning you can’t run your current build, while still getting Elite Spec skills.

Also some elite specs change the core mechanics in ways you may not like, but have no option for the core version of it. Example, Death Shroud vs Shroud Knight,,, if you use Elite Spec, you can’t use Death Shroud skills. You have to use the Melee oriented versions of them at Shroud Knight gives.
