Engineers are cool. They are a new sort of class, they still need much fixing but I have an idea!
I was going to bed and most of the time you get perfect ideas, rethink your life etc (Shower is also a great place).
So here I was thinking… when I thought wait.. what was the previous story about? What weapons did we get… Fused weapons… what if… to put it Story Wise… the Charr and maybe Asuram found out how to fuse and unfuse weapons. What if this kind of improvement would work for the classes who work with the oil en gadgets.. what if you where able to fuse skills from a same group with each other to give them the benefit of the two or even a whole another effect. Giving PRO’s and CONS for the new fused skill.
FOR EXAMPLE:
Fuse two turrets with each other:
Rocket Turret + Flame Turret = Flame Rocket Turret
Burning damage and duration is longer. Initial damage and range decreased. Shoots Horizontaly
Flame Turret + Rocket Turret = Napalm Turret
Burning damage and duration decreased. Gives splash effect, Increased Range. Shoots Upwards.
You could even switch the ‘Engineering Tree’ with some new traits. Like a new Grandmaster Trait could be:
Be able to fuse Gadgets with alle groups.
FOR EXAMPLE
Grenade Kit + Throw Mine= Throw Mine Kit
Range decreased a little, Increased Damage, Mines explode on contact or wait 20 second before exploding. Splash Damage decreased. Condition Duration + Damage decreased.
Bomb Kit + Throw Mine = Lay Mine Kit
Mines explode on contact, increased splash and condition damage.
These are just an example. I have no idea if it would work. But it would make the Engineer class even cooler and more quirky than he already is. It would make the Engineer a Jack of All Trades like class.
I am looking forward to see your reactions. And what you guys would change in my idea or you think it would be a very bad idea.
