Does anyone else feel that #5 for the Rifle is clunky/delayed/laggy? I imagine its supposed to give you a mobility option , but the wierd landing animation/delay prevents it from doing so.

I think if the delay from the landing animation were fixed/removed that the skill would be a lot more useful. I would love to use this skill, it hits really hard and I’m sure everyone wants to fly around like Tristana.

I think all leap skills like this have this set delay where you cannot possibly land on the ground until x amount of time has passed. It’s just most noticeable with Leap Shot since he actually hover in the air for a split second before landing.

I wish Arenanet would make all these skills fly in a neat arc.

It is extra noticeable if you have the increase rifle range trait..

Take your time to learn proper keybinding, it’s worth the struggle

It is a little slow on the landing, but the delay isn’t long enough for it to remove Jump Shot’s viability. I use it a lot – map mobility, fleeing, chasing, and burst damage. Probably my favorite part about the Rifle.

With speedy kits, you can almost cover the same distance just running than you could with Jump Shot because of the weird hover delay before the landing.

If you use this with elixir S it is much more usable. Anet needs to make the skill cast 50% faster.

Note: not saying use it with S but as an example of how it could be fixed.

I use it whenever I’ve done a knockback…

Overcharged shot > Jump shot > Blunderbuss

If they’re not dead I guess they’re lucky. :P

Jumpshot is one of those abilities that you have to setup to be able to use effectively, and I’ve found it’s better to plan as a melee ability rather than a gap closer.

The animation could be speed up a bit, the bug where you land past your target and then glitch teleport back is really annoying and has screwed up rotations a number of times, but if that was fixed I think it would be fine.

It’s not as if any of the other targeted leaps are functioning any better in my experience.

I am really perplexed by the skill.

Early iterations of the skill had it with a huge range, and an impossibly huge z-axis.

You could go from the top of the balcony of the clock tower, to the bottom with it. It was a supreme skill for that.

Now? Short range, very slow, barely faster than running there, and slower than running with swiftness.

So, its not a mobility tool, its now a burst tool, since it does vulnerability on both hits and 2 hits>1 hit. Trouble is, it has trouble there too. Its far too clunky and unresponsive.

This pretty much sums it up. As with any ability in which you have to target an area, you have ensure the target is immobilized, or crippled in some way, to make it effective. It’s animation is very “clunky” looking for sure.

I’m not a huge fan of the pre-landing “float” that occurs. I would rather see a nice, smooth arc to landing. If it’s an issue of timing they could simply reduce to travel speed of the character’s flight to impact.

The float does not bother me at all. what get me is I will often jump and land in the same place as part of my attack. however sometime the animation send me flying as if I jumped away and it is not until after the landing animation is over do I pop back to where did my attack. This annoys me the most.

I prefer to use this as an offensive over anything, it does amazing burst and hits twice just use it in the same spot if you have melee on you to get some great dmg on them then knockback and net them.
