Q:
Engineer Tank?
I been wondering the same.
I am wondering what to roll after thief and i wanted something that is a consideribly decent tank. But is viable ranged to if need to.
First i wanted WArrior, but my last 5 dungeon experiance was errible. Not not only i had 3 other warr in team but hardly any support. Exspecially hard to tank.
Now i am considering ele, but do to armor it can barely live trough anything. Even if it can constantly heal and support.
I considered Necro, but i simply hate the way the class was inplemented.
Any ideas?
There are two types are tank in these second generation mmo. Direct Tank and Evasive Tank.
Direct engineer tanks rely on cycling ElixirS, Gear shield and Static shield (all with traits to reduce their CD). It can be done but requires a lot of effort to keep the “tempo”
Evasive Tank (kite) is much easier for engineers because of the variety of tools: bomb kit, elixir S, rocket boots, slick shoes, ‘restore endurance skills’, etc The only down side is each tool are good for specific enemies so you have to know who you are facing before hand.
Flamethrower looks to have a tankish build, with the +200 toughness in the Inventions line under Juggernaut…regens and stacks Might too. with a constant regen. The Gear Shield doesn’t look near as good IMO.
In Alchemy you have Backpack Regenerator for kit use.
Get Elixir H, Elixir B, and whatever else…might work. I’d use pistol and shield as well, 5% crit and the Earth bleed.
Something like 10(V)/30(V/VIII,XI)/0/30(II/VIII,IX)/0 might work
From my experience Juggernaut has been a waste.
This is what I’m currently using.
I’ve been able to tank a little by being kitted out in Toughness-boosting armor with runes of Vampirism, sticking a Sigil of Blood on my Toughness-boosting gun, traiting into Inventions, and wearing Vitality-boosting jewelry.
If I can muster the will to gather the resources, I intend to switch to a dual pistol build, wielding one weapon with a Sigil of Blood and another with a Sigil of Water, with a kit (probably either Flamethrower, Elixir Gun, or Grenade Kit) to merge the two.
Probably not the best tank method around, but it’s what I do.
