Hi.

Grenade Barrage (toolbelt skill for grenade kit) now deals approx 800dmg on light armor golem – it used to deal 4,000+. Also, Big Ol Bomb only deals about 500dmg now, used to deal about 2,800.

Obviously a serious bug. Pls fix.

So toolbelt skills scale with weapon damage huh? This isn’t reflected on the tooltip! Interesting find, didn’t know about that.

I messed about with statless weapons in the mists and it turns out that rifles give your toolbelt skills the most damage.

just to get this traight:
it scales with weapon damage?

No.

I made a thread about this a while ago.

Toolbelt skills scale with what you currently have equipped. With a kit= no sigils, less stats, less weapon damage.

So naturally, using a toolbelt skill with a kit is a waste.

i was asking for weapon damage !
its old news that stats and sigils from weapons wont count.

and also, its not a waste, it just might be less efficient.
thrown Elixirs and other tools like the googles give a shazbot about weapons stats.

Incase you haven’t noticed, kits don’t have a weapon damage. So rifle/pistol have a higher one.

And in the case of something like regeneration, if you have +healing on your mainhand weapon, then using it with a kit is indeed a waste.

Whats the problem? You don’t want people to know that using toolbelts with kits is inefficient? That upsets your perfect vision of the engineer?

thats why i was asking what i asked, since weapons in the mist done have any stats beside damage. It would be completle new to me that skills are connected with weapon DAMAGE (not weapon stats like power etc ) somehow.

and in case of swiftness its not. now what?

nope! no problem with stating whats bugged and wrong, it’s just anoying when it has to happen in every second post.

So, what would you have the engineer forums be?

No bugs to be discussed. No issues to be mentioned.

Just what? Mindless praise that achieves nothing?
You think they would have fixed the auto attack on the kits if we had it your way?

i’ll quote my post aggain.

You allready got your answer, why ask aggain?

Whatever “my way” might be but, yes they would have fixed it because its in the “engie bugs compilation” thread which happens to be sticky. i’m quite sure that anet made it sticky which probably means -> they know.

‘They know’ means nothing Achmed.

They’ve known since BWE1, which was months ago.

Clearly us letting ‘them know’ accomplishes nothing, and unless you remind them of the issue and show them that you care, then they will just ignore it.

I guess thats where our problem lies ^^
im a coder myself and and reminding us every day that there is a bug wont get things done any faster.
You have to prioritize which bugs comes first.

  • can not fxing it cause additional problems (dataloss, additional bugs and so on)
  • how important is it
  • how easy is it to fix, does fixing affect other areas of the game
  • how many people does it affect
  • and so on

and this list will fixed by the priority of the bugs. Sometimes fixes for totaly unrelated things wil fix other bugs, sometimes an bugfix is more comlex then initialy thought and has to be delayed. and so on.
if bugfixing would be that easy. dont u think they would allready have fixed all the bugs out there?

believe me, it will be fixed, but since there are tons of other bugs out there, especialy all those non working events, disconnects and other issues which affect far more players, it might take some time.

How many people it affects and how important it is, are both relevant to how discussed on the forums it is.

If no one ever mentioned auto attack on kits, It would not be fixed.

And “believe me it will be fixed”, you sure you ain’t working for arenanet :P

Since my quote button seems to have scuttled off, I’d like to mention something about kits and weapon damage:

Kits DO have their own weapon damage. If you check your attack modifiers, it lists your weapon’s average damage. When you swap to a kit, this changes and you gain whatever weapon damage the kit has build in (I’m assuming this scales statically with level, just like all other abilities).

So, for those who are saying you do not retain any weapon damage with a kit, this is incorrect. You do, but it’s usually a lower amount than what you would normally have.

For example:

Me with my rifle – 1067 Weapon Damage
Me with a kit equipped – 969 Weapon Damage

You do lose a lot when you swap to a kit, which I wish they would look into.

I don’t mind that toolbelt skills damage drops when you put on a kit. They’re more or less meant to be used all the time, whether you have a kit on or not. They’re our “surprise!” attack or effect that noone expects, more effective when you don’t have a kit equipped makes them more surprising.

If they give us our weapon’s attribute bonuses and sigils, I’d be happy. People may say that it’s too much for us, but keep in mind that warriors and guardians both have the ability to do major damage with normal weapon multistrikes (greatsword is a very good example) and those still get sigil bonuses and proc chances.
