I’m working on an Excel spreadsheet in an attempt to clean up our trait lines. This included some improvements and tweaks. I know this is pie in the sky thinking, but I’m curious as to what you all think of it so far. I can’t attach an excel file, so I took screenshots of it.

Some traits are new, some are combinations of old traits, and some are old traits with fixes and tweaks. Everything new should either be highlighted or in bold text.

Consider not stacking quite so much into alchemy, and that some of those things that should be moved are where they are to allow for some build diversity, and mitigate some focus overlaps. For instance, If you take Enhanced Performance where it is, you can’t take both juggernaut and HGH to stack Might, because you only have 70 points to allot.

And for that matter, both EP and HGH would be in the Alchemy trait line, so there is quite a bit of overlap in those skills.

I like taking EP when I am in grenades, and don’t want to sacrifice any of my Alch traits for HGH, because I like having some wiggle room for mistakes, and there are at least 2 life-savers in there.

Might also be worth going through the bug threads and asterisk the traits that are currently broken, and drop all this into a google doc so it’s easier to share.

Agree with lunyboy about not putting too much into Alchemy.

I like the consolidation of things like Deadly Mixtures and the turret traits.

I like Overdrive.

Obviously, things like Scope need to be tweaked and turned on.

They need to combine the traits that effect the same kits. Allowing us to further diversify our builds.

Instead of flamethrower having to go 30 into firearms and 20 into alchemy. Combine some of the flamethrower traits so that you don’t have 50 of your trait points already chosen for you.

Either that or make the kits themselves more powerful and just have traits that generally effect engineer skills.

I’m surprised there aren’t more general kit traits. We’ve got a couple “on swap” effects and Backpack Regenerator…

Good suggestions, and I will work on this more. A google doc will be forthcoming. It’s a fun exercise and who knows, maybe if Anet sees this it will spark something.
