Taking a break from GW2 to play various
Nintendo games..
I have an engineer alt that I have very little experience with, but the balance changes are making me want to try to learn it again.
This discussion is fully about spvp. We know that engineer is getting some significant buffs and Ele is gettinging some decent ones as well, and we know that celestial is getting slightly nerfed.
So I ask you, will engineer or Ele be still able to fulfill a sustain/damage role in spvp, and which class will be able to run it better?
I play D/D ele for a team now and for a while I’ve been thinking about learning engi and using it instead sometimes since my team doesn’t have an engi main.
So what are your thoughts? Will engis even run celestial after the patch or would more dedicated condition builds or burst builds see more use?
Since we have no idea
- about how the numbers for our traits turn out,
- about how cd’s for our new skills turn out,
- about how internal cd’s for some of our traits turn out,
- about what kit-refinement will do for mortar,
- if the 10% nerf on cele comes in comparison to the current numbers on amulets, or in comparison to the post-patch numbers of amulets,
- if they introduce new sigils / amuletts for PvP,
I can’t give you a reasonable proposal.
All I can assure you is that you’ll see a lot of very different engi builds in PvP in the upcoming days, since everybody will try out this new stuff.
I’d recommend you to come back with this question in 2-3 weeks, so you get some reasonable answers, because pure speculation will not help you on that regard anyways. You also could use the opportunity and dust out your alt, to participate in this process, so you’ll most likely answer your question yourself in that time.
