Engineer and rifle: Can we be cooler?

It’s even worse when you follow it up with acid bomb.
Blunderbuss were fired from the hip because the backflare from the powder would have burned your face when fired. Even without powder, it is a scattershot at close range that doesn’t require precision aiming.
The warrior is holding the rifle like a kitten. Engineers would like to use the rifle to smack enemies when they reach close combat xD The animation is perfect, I really like it. Engis got more power in their gunshots, self made more effective gun powder? Bullets? In the end they penetrate enemies, and I guess that shows how much BOOM each shot has, wich means that they use it from the hip. I guess the knockback of the rifle would break your neck otherwise … I love it like it is, clearly showing who’s boss with the rifle.

It still surprises me how many people get caught up on the word “rifle”. We clearly wield a shotgun, even the skill icons show it. Every couple weeks it seems like we get a thread about changing Engineer rifle skills to be more like Warrior rifle skills. If that’s what you want just play a Warrior because that’s not what the Engineer is.

in the beta engineers has shotguns a totally separate weapon type. but this got changed to be rifle so it was easy to make skins for all rifle users and not have to have 2 separate weapon types.
now engineer “rifle” is intended to be played like a shot gun a close range wep designed to be deadly which as a zerker it is.
it has a long range auto just so u can hit ppl at a distance.
once u learn how to use a rifle for close range fights in 1v1 wvw u will understand fully how awesome it is to combo the rifle #2then #5 then #3 followed up with a grenade barrage and if needed rocket turret toolbelt skill (this hits stupid hard as zerk) and anything not in bunker build is dead

Anyways, we have some really meaty attacks on the rifle, which I don’t think we should change… Or even need to change to look any cooler. We don’t “kneel and take a precise shot” we “shoot a bullet at their general direction which is so powerful that it leaves us both flying 9 meters through the air from the earth-shattering explosion”

I’m agrred on that the skills for engi and warrior had to be swapped in the beginning, cause engi’s riffle skills look very barbarian when warrior’s skills look more like snipers as engi should be. But what we have right now i’m all ok. No need in huge changes

-if there will be an option so auto-attack could shoot in air and get to target, cause it’s silly when u shouting into crowd without target and it hits nothing..staff guards can spam 1 and get to target and we can’t with the same dps.
-skill 2 and 4 to hit up to 3 targets.
skills 3 and 5 are very good!
Maybe some nice traits for riffle would be nice (instead of turrets that already got their place on decaping engi and never will be dps viable maybe)
Would be nice to add more shotgun skins as (legendary, fine, exotic etc) cause sometimes u finding good skin but it looks silly when shooting from it from hip cause that is riffle but not shotgun.

skill 2 3 targets would be strange, but i agree on 4 hitting multiple targets.

Make it possible to shoot non target with it with skill 1. It can be very usefull for gvg format.

Rifles look way better imo. And for PvE (since I never have played my engi vP) the Pistol is exteamly weak. I only take a pistol for skill 3 and for the shield.

May I be so bold as to say, “Not shotgun but hand cannon.” Every shot animation looks like the engineer is just trying to hold on to the darn and not let it fly out of their hands.
