I read a topic in the Necromancer forums about Engineer having faster/more sustainable condition application. My main is necro but i have been wanting to play my engi again. Is this true, if so whats the current PvP Condition spike meta build (if one exists)

I have heard HGH builds are great but i can only even manager to maintain like 9-12 stacks of might, thoughts?

I use the bomb kit fire field and a superior sigil of battle nad have no problem stacking might. With kit swapping the sigil easily keeps up 9 stacks on its own.

If you’re going condition you can also stack a lot of confusion with superior runes of perplexity, pistol main hand, bomb and tool kit.

Perplexity runes don’t exist in PvP.

Currently, most PvP condi engineers use nades, bombs, and one other utility (elixir gun, elixir S, or toolkit usually). They usually trait 30 into explosives for grenadier and incendiary powder, and at least 20 into alchemy for defensive traits. The remaining 20 are usually used for speedy kits and either more alchemy or some firearms, although some engineers use the inventions tree.

Engineers can apply conditions as fast as a necro, but their skills are harder to land due to travel time (grenades) or delay (bombs). Engineers are also very vulnerable to conditions, unlike necros. In exchange, engineers are more mobile, have better sustained healing, and better resistance to direct damage.

ROCKET BOOTS

E: Major difference between necro/engineer condition application: Necro can apply a LOT of conditions VERY fast, but engis can reapply them more often, typically. Another big difference is that necros have the ability to transfer conditions, which is why condi necro hard counters condi engi (Automated response can help, but 30 point trait that all our condition removal is balanced around = nty)

This is my build
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fcAQJAqelIqqb3zSiF1LJyoCdGoC5lIF5nl95hcxWQIA-TkAAzENpay1kpJZT2mGBM9A

It’s the usual condition build, but compared to a necro you have all these amazing utilities as well as superb condition damage. I’ve played a ton of games with this build and it feels great.

Utilities
1. Shield – #4 magnetic shield (knock back/blast finisher for extra healing), #5 static shield (daze/stun)
2. Elixir Gun – #4 Acid bomb (blast finisher for extra healing/escape mechanism/damage can’t be blocked), # 5 super elixir (heal) and tool kit skill healing mist (heal/stun breaker)
3. Bomb Kit – #4 Smoke bomb(blind), #5 Glue bomb(immobilize)
4. Supply crate (an amazing skill that’s a blast finisher and gives you health pack

Now, used correctly these skills will render thieves useless. Seriously, thieves are afraid of contesting a point with me, actually any thief should be afraid of a bomb kit wielding engineer. With this build, all your explosions will cause vulnerability, all critical hits WILL cause burning, and have a 33% chance to cause bleeding.

I admit, I’m spamming a lot of my abilities, but knowing when to time a perfect static shield to stun followed up with a big ol’ bomb and a glue bomb is quite satisfying.

The only problem I have with this build is that I cannot over come being immobilized. The stun breaker doesn’t work when you’re immobilized, but that’s only when there’s more than 1 enemy chain immobilizing.
