Engineer lacking in mobility?
There’s a trait that gives you 5 sec swiftess when equipping a kit, basically that’s perma swiftness if you press buttons every 5 sec. Rocket boots is amazing, shorter cd then RLT, breaks immobalize skills, and goes pretty far. With trait ‘rifle has more range’, jump shot is also a nice gap closer.
No excuse anymore for not giving ‘hide mounts’-option
No thanks to unidentified weapons.
Rocket Boots together with Acid Bomb gives you a 1000 range leap. You can have permanent and increasing swiftness, by using Med Kit together with the trait Speedy Kits. Using all of these skills makes the Engineer one of the best mobility professions in the game.

Great Ill look into that Kasama, I definitely missed that.
The Speedy kits trait has a 5 sec CD so Im assuming you are
using ways to buff the 5 sec of swiftness? Either way seems kind
of laborious spamming the key every 5 seconds to keep buff up.

No it works good i have toolkit and bombkit and always have swiftness up when i am roaming.

Trust met, you will get used to it pretty quickly.

This made me LOL so hard, not trying to be condecending or anything, but if that seems laborious Engi really isn’t for you. Don’t even touch grenade kit.
On a more constructive note I’ll add that the real strength of this trait is it’s synergy with the 10 pt Alchemy trait Invigorating Speed
This gives perma swiftness and vigor, and because it also gives 10% boon duration (from alchemy) there is a half second of overlap between cooldowns, this overlap grows with more boon duration and Alchemy is arguably our best trait line.

Allow me to quote myself:
You can have permanent and increasing swiftness, by using Med Kit together with the trait Speedy Kits.
Med Kit gives you 11 seconds of swiftness every 20 seconds. So when you use Speedy Kits together with the Med Kit, the swiftness you get from the Med Kit is never used. Meaning every 60 second, you’ll have 33 seconds of swiftness saved up.

Albeit, to use speedy kits you need to invest points in the tools tree – something you can’t do at will, where the other classes’ signets are utilities and thus changeable in every moment.

Once your accustomed to it, you won’t want to change it at will.
I don’t think I run builds anymore that don’t start with a base of 0/0/10/10/10, so if I do have the odd desire to drop Speedy Kits it’s just as easy to change out as a utility skill.
With Rocket Boots + Jump Shot + Acid Bomb all under permanent swiftness, Engineers looking to be mobile can be incredibly so…I know I am lol.
slot medkit, elixir B, rocket boots, slick shoes.
regardless of traits you’ll be outpacing everyone.
I don’t slot any of those usually, so I got runes of the traveler
speedy kits gets old real fast
if u dont wanna spam bottons every 5 sec than get ur 6 skill as medikit and drop number 5 of the med kit…it gives 10 sec of fury and swiftness i think? on top of that if u use kit swap u dont have to spam the botton every 5 sec
For traits you can try:
- Speedy Kits, Tools 6 for swiftness on swap.
- Infused Precision, Firearms 3 for swiftness on crit.
For traveling, you can swap to Med Kit to use “Drop Stimulant” when it is off cooldown.
I personally use a combination of Elixir B + Medkit for travel, with B alone enough for maintaining decent swiftness in combat in conjunction with Hidden Flask.
The trait options will allow for permanent swiftness outside/inside combat respectively if that is something you value.
Speedy kits is permanent-swift if you have at least 1 kit. Rocket boots is a great gap closer, or a great gap opener (if you rocket-boot out of a smoke bomb to open a gap, you get a bonus bit of stealth at the end of the jump, even). If you use rifle, jump shot is a great gap closer as well, and can sometimes clear terrain gaps that other classes have difficulty crossing, especially with rifled barrels trait.

I’m agree with this… if you are thinking about perma swiftness requires too much work with the engy, maybe you want to rethink if this profession is going to be your cup of tea… Engy has the most key presses for anything you want done, usually you do those things pretty well but not better than everyone else, so it’s NOT really the most keys the most powerful.
If you are ok with this, you’d be happy with the different ways to get your perma swiftness / combat movement. (Other fellows have explained all the possibilities pretty well)

I would certainly argue that engi is one of the most mobile classes. And I reinforce the idea that if you think speedy kits sounds like a pain you may be looking at the wrong class. So far I have not been able to find a role I can not fit as well as most other classes but doing so usually requires some creativity and skill.
I dislike needing to waste 10 points and use a kit in every build just to achieve the same mobility available to half the other classes.

Other classes have to use a utility, traits, or weapon sets to achieve mobility.
Why should our class be any different?
