should rifle be treated like like rangers greatsword? i don’t see why it shouldn’t be. rifle on an engineer is more or less a melee weapon isn’kitten

why isn’t blunderbuss at the same cooldown of maul?
(you might not know what i’m saying because the forum gods decided to turn ‘is not it’ abbreviated into isn’kitten.’)

Well.. just because it’s short range-ish, why did you pick the Ranger’s Greatsword as a template for what you feel the Engi Rifle should be, lol. There’s no logic here, really.

The Rifle is indeed quite difficult compared to most weapons when actually trying to get the damage out. Blunderbus is very choosy on whether it wants to hit or not. It only strikes things directly in front of the player, pretty much.

On the bright side, the range on blunderbuss is finally going up so it might finally feel more like a medium ranged weapon rather than this awkward super-close-range/long range weapon we have now.

from the dec 10 patch preview. range only increases when traited. nobody traits for increased range so w/e

I’m sure the first sentence is even if untraited, but the +200 is a bonus from traited.

maul=similar damage, range and cooldown. similar effects (gs 4 on ranger is a weaker net shot) rifle 5 is similar to swoop. and gs 5 is similar to rifle 4. overall they are similar weapons both in performance, but maul has a higher damage ceiling than blunderbuss without going full glass.

Probably because GS rangers usually trait the +50% damage after interrupt.

Don’t you feel the 40% lower cool down on maul as well as its 5 stacks of vulnerability are relevant as well? These facts appear to have been ignored for some reason

434 / 1.5 = 289.33
618 / 1.6 = 386.25

289.33 =/= 386.25

Since there is no real base damage either the first damage number or the ratio of one skill is wrong. The difference is higher than just 0.1, it’s more about 0.6 more. So if 434 +1.5 is right, aswell the 618, then the 618 scales with 2.1.

What is sure is that there is something definitly wrong with these wiki nubers.
