Engineer turret targetting- epitome of stupid
Perhaps when a turret is overcharged, it shall automatically target your target?
In most situations I want my turret to attack my current target, but I would be reluctant for them to make this default behaviour as It would probably reduce the net turrets crowd control capabilities.
Sometimes my turrets seem to just randomly attack targets that are far away, to be honest I have no idea what determines a turrets target.
If nothing else, I’d love to see the AI updated to check 3 things:
A) Is my target aggressive? Centaur camps are the perfect example of this- I don’t want my turrets shooting centaur supplies while I’m getting my face melted by an actual centaur
B) Is my owner being attacked? If so, kill whatever is attacking my owner.
C) Am I damaging my target? If the turret’s attacks are not reducing the target’s health even remotely, then it means something is wrong. Either the target is invulnerable, or it’s being blocked by something, etc. In that case, the turret should find a new target (if available. otherwise keep doin what it’s doing)

@Tolmos i agree with what youve just said and since its just a minor script i see no problems for the devs to accomplish that.
@Tolmos what’s your build? Just curious if you’re using 4 turrets, and which ones, how you traited them. I’ve never even tried the rifle turret or flame turret myself.
Have you tryed fighting Shatter, Tequatl or Claw of Jormag? I do alot and it seems turrets refuse to target dragons even when there are no other options. Iv placed my rifle and rocket turret to face off an edge just so I could see them turn to see if they would shoot at the dragon. They never turned. That test was with jormag after his wings where blown off.
Other problems is turrets want to shoot at structures long after they have been destroyed. Trying to use turrets anywhere there are enemy “supply creates” is a waste.
This one is well known of course.
