Explosive Powder: Boon or Bane?

I am not sure how many of you feel, but I do not see this as being entirely constructive as a baseline trait in the Explosives tree. I am not a hardcore dungeoneer, but I can be found frequenting in the act we currently know as the dungeon experience. Which brings me to the heart of this discussion… Does anyone else feel that this line is now counter-intuitive to our boon stacking rotations during combat situations? It seems to me that this level of poor design was another oversight in regards to all game modes; that is to say a mechanic such as turret knock back should have been kept optional as it was pre patch. Obviously it is very thoughtful and generous that a 10% damage increase be provided to explosions, but the consequential side effects of said passive are (in my eyes) unwarranted.

The suggestion I would like to propose is that this trait have the secondary effect removed from it’s minor counterpart and instead be paired together with the current GM “Shrapnel”. It makes a little more sense for someone to pick up this form of shrapnel if they wanted Crate to punish people, regardless of whether this is possible without the change (point being that the alteration harmlessly corrects a mechanical issue). This would at least prevent another unnecessary annoyance to those who did not ask for, nor expect, such obtrusive mechanics to disrupt positive party play.
