If you take Explosives and want to use Bombs and not Grenades, you are in for a bad time.

Game designers, why did you put only “Grenadier”, “Grenade Barage” and “Glass Cannon” at Tier 1. This means that if I want to use bombs I basically am wasting this tier.

You should swap one of them with Aim-Assisted Rocket or Shaped Charge from T2 either of which are good for both Bombs and Grenades.

Then a Bomb user would feel like they are getting something from every tier.

It doesn’t need bomb love. Short Fuse is bomb love. Tier 1 needs a trait for condi builds that don’t run grenades!

to clarify.

grenadier. Grenade kit exclusive trait.
Explosive descent. wvw, and super niche world pve trait.
Glass cannon. Pve trait.

All 3 are fairly niche. none are particularly useful in pvp. only grenadier has any synergy with any particular builds.

All the fall damage traits probably should have been coupled with things. they are hard to justify alone.
But couple explosive descent with leg mods, or energized armor.. (yes I know leg mods was already coupled into mecha legs.)

Well grenadier is fine where it is, and the fall damage trait has to go SOMEWHERE (Even though I think they should all be baseline anyway. I suppose the only reason it’s a trait you need to trade-off for is WvW to give you more shortcuts you can take, but even then unless you’re already in combat you just switch it on and off when you actually need to jump)

So the problem here is that Glass Cannon is a really, really boring and underwhelming trait. They just slapped it in there for the min-maxers who want a second Scholar’s rune, basically. If they replaced it, I would not miss it.

If the devs really want to keep glass cannon, honestly, they can probably roll grenadier into the fall damage trait without it being overpowered. Some of the other fall damage traits have side effects now too. So, you throw grenades faster AND drop grenades when you fall.

That’d make room for a third trait more friendly to other weapons sets.

yeah, my thinking is the fall damage is primarily used in WvW. (might find use in HoT I suppose…) So it should be bundled with something useful in spvp. functionally, that would also have some use in WvW too. leg mod which gives -33 cripple/immobalize/chill? duration makes ALOT of sense. or even power legs, which was the 25% move speed. all 3 might be a bit much admittedly.
