FT autoattack on stairs/slopes
yes & no.
If you move, and turn your character/camera while holding the right mouse-button (which most people usually do constantly), you fire in a straight, horizontal line towards the direction you’re looking at. This is when you miss people below or above you.
However, the FT is capable to fire up & downwards, but for this to happen you’ll need to stand still when the cast starts, and not touch your camera position at all. As soon as you move, or turn your character/camera with right mouse-button, it locks itself back to the horizontal line.
Don’t worry, FT #1 is bad dmg-wise anyways, and all other AA’s we have correctly aim on targets above or below them (unless they’re ground-targeted and you svck at aiming^^) .
I always hold the right button thats why how ever FT is not that bad if traited with juggernaunt. Stability is very good in this meta where most of the class rely on stun to burst you and with rune of strenght you have at least 8 stack of might. And with multiple attack you can crit more to proc sharpshooter and sigils. I use elixir U for haste too, so its even better, u can apply 5-6 stack of bleeding too.
I know this, don’t worry, and even tho it’s a matter of personal preference, I rather rely on proper dodging than the 1 stack of stab you get

Well, low damage isn’t an excuse for a bug
Thx for your explanation. It happens in sPvP with the stairs, but in WvW too, and it’s worse imo because there are few “perfectly horizontal” places where the FT works properly…

Unless it’s steep stairs or ramps, FT hits most of the times as well.
His cone is actually quite big, and spreads a bit on the vertical axis, so you’ll usually catch people on uneven terrain.
It just gets annoying if they stand like really far above or below you, like balconies, walls in WvW, or directly on top of stairs.
A good example is khylo clocktower. the platform in the middle can be dps’d quite easily from its east&west-sides, so you don’t need to run around and stand at the north or south-side of the room, nor need to fight directly on point.
