I beat him in a 1v1 on my Thief in a solo Q so I’ll never forget!
He’s probably top 3 Engi’s NA at the moment. He’s been around for a long time.

Proved that slick shoes are viable.

Was there ever an argument otherwise? I’ve always thought it was a pretty cool skill, made only better when it got a stun break as well. Great for bomb builds, or anything where you need to be in melee range really. Allows you land big spikes quite nicely with the knockdowns, and the mobility from the toolbelt is nice also.

P.S. I hate the word “viable” in this game. It’s so… “played out”

There was an argument. There was a topic where someone pulled out a quote from Teldo saying Slick shoes wasn’t viable.

This is the point where you just look at those people and shake your head.

Oh right. Lord Teldo. Dude is good and knows his stuff, but I have no idea why so many treated everything that came out of his mouth as gospel. People should think for themselves more.

He doesn’t say it’s not a viable skill, just that the cool down is a bit too long. I have run these in a bomb build a few times, and I tend to agree. Additionally, the AoE size seems to be buggy and small on uneven geometry, after having used them on the WvW points a few times, but I prolly won’t slot them again until the CD is shortened to 45 seconds or so. The tool belt skill is the stun break, so it deserves a longer cool down, but 45 for the regular slot skill should be plenty IMHUO.

lol my apologies. I’ll revise my statement to “demonstrated the fact that zerker rifle cc/pressure/burst-roaming engineer using slick shoes as a utility skill can be used successfully in top-level tournaments.”

While I’m not playing on a team right now and entering into tourneys, I would like to point out that slick shoes being used in the upper levels of pvp isn’t really new…

Five gauge is probably the best rifle engi I’ve ever seen. Exceptionally good player.

Didn’t teldo run slick shoes before he quit anyways? Not too sure why someone wouldn’t formulate their own opinions about it. Everyone has a different thought about what is and isn’t good and whatever their opinion is doesn’t need to be yours…
