Fixing quip with a simple solution
This post makes me sad. Of all class forums, ANet has posted the most on engineer, and yet none of them have been on any subject other then hobo-sacks and legendaries.
No offense. This specific thread is valid, but you’re sorta beating a dead horse.
make quip affect kits, and maintain the aura and footsteps.
just like when u hold the quip and throw grenade barrage , so be it on grenade kit
People have been suggesting that legendaries on engineers should affect kits but Anet hasn’t implemented anything other than the toolbelt skills being affected by them as long as you have the weapons equipped (and not a kit out)
Anet’s posted most on Ranger (if you count talking shop), with Necromancer being the closest second (and it takes the lead if you don’t count talking shop, putting Ranger in second), actually, while Mesmers and Warriors have the same amount of dev replies, with Engineer being the fourth-most-posted-in (or third, if you count talking shop). Yes, I counted. A little while ago.
Other than that…well, I honestly didn’t know there was any kind of “Fix Quip” initiative. Thought it was just the one joke weapon among our three choices of legendary.

None taken, im not really active on the forums.
Your post is well put out , and TBH im impressed, but this is a gamebreaking situation.
We all know what this game’s about.
I also dont need to explain why those issues are major deal, because that would be preaching to the choir.
To excuse this topic , i’d say this:
Engineers have no reason of getting a pretty weapon or a pricey backpiece beside being social in LA.

Isn’t that the stereotype of Engineers in the real world? Most of them are more interested in whether it does the job, than whether it looks good.
Unfortunately, making us wear hobosacks most of the time seriously overplays the stereotype.
