Flamer AA not firing straight while moving?
The animation shoots in the ground but the damage has it normal reach 425 range to the front. (I did a quick damage test on a golem in the pvp lobby). Maybe you should do your own tests i might have overlooked something ofc.
What you see is an animation issue.
More important ist what you dont see. The hitbox dont match the visial effekt.
This is problematic in two cases:
1. When you attack a Player/NPC while moving, you can see that the flame-jet is actualy hitting the target. But the hitbox of the Jet is completly missmatching with the optical effekt, if the target is not in the center of your screen. (The real invisible flame-jet is always pointing in the center of your screen while moving >while holding right mouse button<)
2. If you stand still but the target is moving, the Flamejet is also not hitting the target propperly while the optical effect is on the right position. In this case the real flame-jet is a bit behind the targets hitbox.

To put it in technical terms, the Flame Jet animations are “wonky”.

It’s a cone attack, it is parallel to the ground in a rectangle/cone shape. The animation is like any projectile though, it tries to match up with where your character is facing.
FJ and Fumigate animations behave that YOU see them firing at what you have selected. But they both are straight forward (not up or down, neither left or right) when you move, so you can not aim sideways at a hostile target, even if it looks like you would.
Holding your right mouse button will do the same thing, even if you select a hostile enemy, just tap a movement key while you face in a given direction and your character will re-orient based on your mouse rather than your target.
The animation will LOOK like you aim for your selected target for YOU, but in fact you are fumigating / flamejet-…-ting straight forward. Other players see a straight forward animation aswell. So while moving you can freely turn around and cleanse conditions from your allies with fumigate, just the animations looks bugged.
You can reproduce the same behavor with a rifle. Aim straight forward but target a friendly player, you character will bow to the direction of the player but still the bullets fly stright forward

You’re right, the animation is just wrong there too! Well I really didnt knew that, I thought I’ve tested it but apparently I did it wrong.
Another reason to always redo testings from time to time to prove oneself wrong
