Gadgets need a bit of help
I’ve always been fond of making them the engineers ‘signets’, either by trait or just by buffing them.
Engineers afterall, are the only class without signets. Well, that might make sense from a lore perspective maybe, but I kind of like them.
So a 2nd tier or 3rd tier trait, or even a baseline change could work.
Sadly, the “use twice before cooldown” would be OP. Slick shoes is very strong, and two very strong launches from PBR would be too much. Mine, utility goggles and rocket boots not so much, but still, its too much just for those two.
I LOVE the idea of giving passive effects to unused gadgets, it’d be great.
Utility Goggles : Increased Precision / Crit rate
Slick Shoes : Increased Speed (10-15%)
Rocket Boots : Reduced falling damage (?) higher jumps? Don’t know anything that’d fit them!
No idea for Mines and PBR either.

Just look at other signets for ideas.
PBR: Power
Rocket Boots: Condition damage (Rocket kick maybe?) Plus, pistols don’t have something like that while rifle has overcharged shot.
Mine: Better toughness? Crit damage?
Rocket Boots = Endurance Regen nod
Like your blasting off with them while just leaning sideways to lazily roll.
