Hi everyone, I tried Engi in the PvP lobby and there fun. However, I’m afraid to make one and sucking aha as I heard there a hard class. The elite spec seems simple though with the gyros. Lastly, can a engi go power or condi or does condi outclass power and what kits and weps are condi/power?

The meta-scrapper build is actually really simple to play. You’d probably be able to pick that up really fast. Has enough damage and sustain to almost faceroll. Engineer was only really thought to be hard back when it was only a core-specs.
Power is the general go-to nowadays as well. Condi is doable but you won’t be able to pump out as much consistent conditions as other classes can and also leaves you lacking in some area most of the time.
Pistol Main hand is condi, pistol off hand is condi, shield is utility but it’s really only condi as we only have one single-handed main weapon (don’t use shield anyway), Hammer and Rifle are both power but Hammer at the moment is pretty amazing and rifle lacks out in offensive and defensive capabilities comparatively when fighting on point.

Hi! Power engineer with hammer is the best build we have now, and it is a point holder, meaning you’ll do a lot of 1v1s on capture points. You can also play condi, it’s viable though not as strong, with double pistols, and in that case you would be more of a team fighter. You can also play a grenade build (with either hammer or rifle), which is not as strong but rather fun, and it is also a team fighter (basically, stay out of the melee and spam nades).

We have three offensive kits, grenades that are mostly power-based but can be used in a hybrid build, bombs that are mostly condi based (but are weak), and flamethrower which can be used both in condi and power builds.

The rest of the kits are more utility-based. The toolkit is great if you don’t play with a hammer, because it has a block. It is overall a great kit, even if it is out of fashion. Elixir Gun is our best kit for point holder builds (like hammer scrapper), since it cures conditions, breaks stuns, and offers a short CD blast finisher. Mortar is ok-ish in a condition build: it has a lot of combo fields.

So nade is stronger than mortar regardless of condi or power, sounds good. Thanks guys for all the help.

I only have 80 hours on scrapper, and I had no problems learning it, so I woukd say that it is not hard to pick up. Paladin Scrapper and the WvW stat equivalent is amazing in small scale fights.
