Getting Destroyed
Which zone are you currently leveling, what is your trait setup and which stat line does your gear have? all start matter more and and more the higher level you get personal I found Bomb kit and Grenades kit to be the best for leveling (Mostly cause I love AoE).
Do you level a proffesion? cause if you do, get a few levels higher then the zone you have problems with, and it should be easier to handle the mobs!

Try this out for PvE….
Use rifle, grenade kit and bomb kit and make sure you have the speedy kit trait.
Pull a pack of NPCs using either rifle or grenades. As they approach you, switch to bomb kit and use smoke bomb, concussion bomb, fire bomb, then switch to rifle and use jumpshot on what should be a stack of mobs on top of you. Then switch to grenades and use freeze grenades to chill them so you can open up room.
Then kite them around in a small circle and while throwing grenades slightly behind you so that they run into them.
Against hard single target mobs use your rifles CC (overcharged shot and net shot) to keep extra distance.
Using this method should provide pretty easy kills in PvE imo and using a combo similar to this I am able to solo supply camps in WvWvW which consists of 3 melee veteran mobs and 2 ranged veteran mobs.
I’m not leveling any professions right now (i probably should haha) and i mainly go for condition damage and precision, with some explosive damage (I’m not at home right now so i cant check my stats and such)
Thanks Seether i’ll give that a try tonight
You’re probably fighting stuff too high level for you. Honestly no matter how you spec you should have zero trouble killing appropriate level mobs.
In this game level matters a LOT. It is never efficient to kill stuff higher level than you are. If you find yourself killing mobs that are higher level than you are go back to a lower level zone till you’ve got a few more levels then go back. It takes literally 2x as long to clear a zone if you’re 2 levels lower than the mobs than it does if you are equal level.
It’s also important to have level-apropriate gear as you level, preferably blue or green. If you’re at 58 then you might have problems using gear of level 50 or lower.

I completely forgot to check my gear, most of it was the level 47 cultural gear -_-, to the auction house we go!
Instead of flame turret, try net turret and try changng elixir b for elixir u or bomb kit.
The 2 traits infused precision and invigorating speed work well together and should inprove your survivability a bunch.
Based on what the first poster said I think you didn’t spend anything on health or toughness am I rite? you should start to consider pumpin either, also unless you have quite some money and can manage to max it, I’d say to drop the condition damage entirely (so dropping pistols too, ‘coz that’s rly their only viable option) ‘coz you can’t properly stack stacks of bleeds anyway, as you’d need runes and everything to boost the duration, my suggestion is, try to use some combo fields once a while, they are very helpful and help whoever is in them, try out all the kits (just ignore flamethrower’s skill-2, bugged), as long as you are not sure about what to use, try to get some survivability, that should help you for the time being until you figure out what you truly wanna do after you tried everything, maybe go to the mists to check skills.
Cool thing about this game is you can easily respec to get through rough patches. I ran, duel pistol then flame thrower then finally power precision rifle build until 80. What server you on?
Much like others have said:
Make sure you have level appropriate gear, try changing over to the rifle, which has better range and control, try using grenades which have better damage and range, try traiting and gearing for extra toughness and vitality.
I don’t find gear matters much and your spec honestly shouldn’t matter either. If you are getting “destroyed” it is because you’re fighting too high level mobs. Level appropriate PVE in this game is extremely easy and shouldn’t be causing you any problems.
