spvp — decap engis already get complaints for being good at what they do and they dont exactly have stab… and bomb kits in that build. and decap engi doesnt need buffs.

Couple of changes after reflection:
1. E-Gun Elixir F should provide stability not swiftness to any allies it hits.
Your hit by glue and go faster? Strange.
2. Glue should provide stability to anyone in it (friend or foe)
a. You could use it for allies to get stability.
b. This would keep it from buffing decap engineers
c. You still would have enemy with a movement debuff.
d. Now all glue can be played offensively or defensively.

Glue on elixir F would be to OP. its to short a CD for a bouncing stability
Ah, I would reduce the duration on Elixir F from 3 seconds (swiftness) to 1 second of stability.
But if still too OP, so be it. I would be happy enough if glue shot and glue bomb got stability added
Elixir F is a very unreliable skill currently with a strangely short bouncing radius for its intended purpose, It does scale pretty great with power however. I didn’t think elixir F is Glue though, I don’t remember seeing that information stated anywhere aside from its “glue like” appearance.
But I don’t think providing a very short application of stability to friendly units would be “over powered”. The only problem I see is adding something like this too an already “S” rank Kit. Personally I feel more utility should be given to the underused kits see how Elixir Gun is already a solid staple in Kit based builds. But this is just my opinion.
But above all else, off hand Pistol’s Glue Shot needs this. (Or something) As it would be an excellent and unique way to bring this underused weapon choice on par with the others ….Well.. We only have one other off hand.

A decap engineer would use a rifle or shield offhand for actually decapping, wouldn’t they? Pistol offhand would give them less ways to do this. You’d have to trade the rifle’s constant knockbacks or shield’s blast and knockback to even get the stability from glue shot.

rifle is best for 1/2 the cd on the knockback + net shot. i dont really think itd be worth giving up rifle… its really good at keeping an enemy out of the ring. but they dont have a reason to use glue bomb right now, its just kind of there. turning it into a stability field makes it a lot harder to fight against the engis position denial.
as it is now, its a game of bumper cars… who can bump who for the longest? engi cant prevent you from bumping, but has more bumps.
idk it seems to me this is similar to the reasoning behind the net turret nerfs. net turrets OP in 1 situation, when you crate + net shot + turret and get 10 sec of immob. which is enough for perma lockdown, refreshing every ~3 secs. theres just nothing an opponent cant do about that. a short duration stability field doesnt seem offensive in itself, but it could put a wombo combo or a playstyle (decap engi specifically) way over the top.
i think the suggestion to give everyone stability would be really fun and could balance it out for decap engi.
I would LOVE some stability on bomb kit, but I think that may make it a teensy bit OP, and with the time delay on the bomb make it clunky at best.
BUT offhand pistol could sure use a buff, and this seems perfect +1’d. I mean the class design philosophy from forever ago stated that engineers use boons for defense. And while we have access to protection, aegis, and stability, its very limited and situational.

Edit: it could cause so much rage if this was in pvp and should probably stay out of it. Yes it’d be*nice* to have decent stab outside of elixirs, but with the many blinds and cc at our disposal, not really needed.

For off hand pistol, this addition would be more designed for defensive applications. Which off hand pistol severely lacks. And by severely lacks I mean is almost non-existent when compared to the only other off hand alternative the amazing Shield.
I have spent a lot of time with off hand pistol. It is fun in hot joins, but performs very poor in actual competitive formats. (SPvP)
Sounds very clever and a neat buff idea. I’d have to make a big decision whether I wanted the stability and damage of the offhand pistol or the utility, cc and combo finishers of the shield.

Hm… I think this is actually a fairly decent suggestion as it would allow some versatility to the abilities.
My main concern is that it would be too strong in sPvP with the bomb kit on a node, which is already quite strong. Perhaps if it didn’t provide stability on each tick and only provided like two seconds to where to glue landed? It’d basically work like the immobilize portion does, except in reverse.

I use glue shot all the time on p/p. Like the glue bomb, I think it just takes a lot of practice to learn how to use it effectively. Try watching some of the p/p roamer videos (not sure if people are still making those these days).
I am debating on its power in a Bomb Kit, even though it would seem strange to not have Glue function similar across the board it would be very easy to set Bomb Kit over the top as it is already a potent hybrid Kit that brings an excellent array of control defense and utility. But I would absolutely love this change for Off Hand Pistol!
A shared concept I had thought of a while ago is making Glue Shot have a secondary Activated Ability. “Ignite Glue” That would cause the puddle of glue to Ignite inflicting Blind and Burning to foes inside the Puddle. It could even deal bonus power damage to foes with Cripple and Immobilize.
As nifty as this would be, I would prefer stability. Just for the fun gameplay that would come from it. Being able to support a group of your teammates as well as impair enemies. This change could potentially make the Off hand Pistol as fun as the Shield! (I know.. A bold statement)
Now if only their was ways via traits to make a viable Power Pistol/Pistol Builds and Condition Rifle Builds. Granted, I’ve had some decent Play with a few Condition Rifle Builds.. Although I would call it more of a Condition Grenade Build… with a Rifle in it..

But seriously, the best I’ve come up with is a hybrid damage P/P static Discharge build. Easy to play? No. Good survivability or damage mitigation? Nope. Good team support? Non-existent. Tourney viable. Hell no. Fun to play? Like you wouldn’t believe!
