I’m going to be using these two Kits with a 30/0/0/10/30 trait setup. That means 30% to both Condition Duration and Critical Damage. I hop around between PvE and zerg-centric WvW. That being the case, would I be better off with Rampager gear, or Berserker? Without investment in the Firearms line, I won’t be getting Bleed on criticals unless I toss a Sigil in.

One concern I have is the upcoming Critical Damage change. Obviously, no one knows the exact specifics of how that’ll go down, but there’s some basic info on it, right? From what I recall, small amounts of Critical Damage won’t see much change, but piling it on will be less effective?

The class is always greener on the other side.

I was impressed with the damage i saw from wolfineers celestial grenades bleed ticks for 99 and crits for 1k-1,5k. But celestial will take a crit dmg hit in the ferocity patch.

that trait setup will work better with a power focus — zerk/knight/cav — or hybrid. most of the tools traits do pretty much nothing for condis. celestial >>>>> rampager.

if youre worried about crit damage nerf, just wait and see it.

It’ll get compensated.

I believe you answered your own question in both the title and this sentence. You’re building for Crit Damage, the logical choice is a power build.

I understand you have Condition Duration, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you need a condition build. You will be extending the length of your vulnerability as well which just means more direct damage.

I personally love rampager gear for roaming. I mix it up a little with trinkets and food to add crit or condition damage depending on what I need.

I’ve found that most people I run into are either real strong against conditions or direct damage, so if you pick one of these to speck into you are going to have a real easy fight about half the time. By specking into direct and condition damage you might not down them as quick but you will down them.

Plus it’s fun to see them freaking out about clearing conditions while you burst them down real fast.

if you’re traiting 30 into tools then go power. i believe 30/0/0/10/30 is the standard grenade SD build. tools is generally a subpar line for a condition build.
