Hi,

I was hoping to get some advice on a build that centered on Grenades, but had some ability for roaming in WvW. Now when it comes to roaming, I’m not looking for some 1v4+ miracle build. But just something that is good at 1v1, or at the very least running away.

I am admittedly a low skill player. So, spamming Grenades outside of zerg battles and keep sieges probably won’t happen for me.

Here’s a build I thought would work. It relies some defensive traits from inventions and gadgets.

Again, I’m just trying to find a build that let’s me max out grenades, but gives me some options for roaming too.

I just watched Ostrich Eggs’ Grenadier HGH build video. I think that is a prime example off too much skill required for me. I’m looking for something I can swap to for roaming, or small skirmishes where when moving and kiting you aren’t required to ground target and use free camera.

So, I don’t know what benefits more from 30 in Explosives: Rifle or Pistols?

I recently started solo roaming as an explosives engineer and have found it very fun. Going full condition damage and taking either toolkit or bomb kit with your grenades actually works very well. Toolkit is excellent for 1v1 fights, and bomb kit is amazing for taking supply camps solo or in a very small group.

For traits, you’ll probably want incendiary powder instead of shrapnel. You might want to look at getting some condition removal, which either means taking elixir C, or traiting into alchemy for 409 and taking a different elixir.

Thanks for the tips. I’m not the biggest fan of bomb kit, unfortunately. I’ve always thought I would have to spec heavy into inventions for healing bombs to make it good for roaming, right?

But I’m not opposed to swiping out different traits and skills between roaming and sieges. I just don’t want to have to respec and have separate sets of gear if possible.

I guess I’m just looking for a good 30/x/x/x/x build that can be flexible.
